EPL has 13 games remaining so Hull City & QPR are starting to get desperate as they look to avoid the drop. Lee Phelps has looked at the betting and has found some nice odds for his free pick.

Nerves will be jangling as Hull City face up to QPR in a game that could change the fortunes for one club for the next few weeks.

QPR have just recorded their first away win of the season, beating Sunderland and the new manager effect seems to have worked. Add to that the fact they are top of a relegation mini league. If you take the eight teams from Crystal Palace down, they have six wins out of nine in that and just two defeats. Maybe it’s worth looking at Rangers to play like buses with two wins coming at once after such a long wait.

Hull City
The big news for the Tigers this weekend is the return of Mohamed Diame. He will strengthen the midfield and offer some respite for the back line. Dame N'Doye’s first goal for the club was also a very welcome sight, having seen the goals dry up of late.

Hull hero Dean Windass has been talking about N’Doye’s impact this week in the Hull Daily Mail: “It’s just one game, and City have already seen explosive starts from new signings fizzle out this season. Abel Hernandez made a terrific start to life at the KC when he netted on his debut in the 2-2 draw with West Ham.

He followed that up with two further goals in his next four outings, but it's fair to say that his progress has stalled since then.

It is a massive relief when you get your first goal, but we'll have to see how N'Doye goes against QPR to be able to judge him a bit better.

I think he (Steve Bruce) needs to play N'Doye with Nikica Jelavic up top for the next five or six games and give them a chance to gel.

Jelavic works hard but is yet to convince me, but he linked up well with N'Doye. If they can grab another 11 or 12 goals between them, they can fire City to safety.”

I think given his start he is a little bit of value at 2.9 (19/10) to score against a QPR defence that was lucky to keep a clean sheet against Sunderland and who had of course let in goals in every other away match.

QPR
The big team news for Chris Ramsey’s side is Charlie Austin being fit again. Despite his recent absence his goals still account for half of his teams' in the top flight (13 of 26).

Austin's return is even more important with the Londoners' second-highest scorer, Leroy Fer, set to miss to miss the next two months with a knee injury, while Sandro remains off the pace for a first-team return after a similar issue.

Going back to the point about QPR’s form against fellow strugglers, it’s key to look at how many they have scored in those crucial games. They have found the back of the net in seven of those nine matches against other relegation candidates and have won six of those seven too.

Soccer picks
For my soccer pick, I’m really tempted to go for an away win here at 3.2 (16/5) given Austin’s return, but have they done enough away from home to warrant trusting them. Instead I’ll back Austin to score anytime at 3.5 (5/2).
