He knocked out Joey Hernandez in the first round in his last fight on December 22, 2018, also at the Barclays Center.

The 31-year-old feels this is the perfect fight for him. "With Austin Trout being a former champion and having experience fighting all the top guys in the division, it gives me a chance to show where I'm at. It's not only about winning, but it's the way I'll win that will put people on notice."

Gausha does have less mileage on him than Trout but nothing else appears to be going his way for this fight; he won't win a technical bout with Trout and he's not Canelo and Hurd, he doesn't have their power to bridge the gap.

"I'm smarter and faster than the young boys; I don't feel old at all at 33." This was one of Trout's quotes ahead of this fight and having partnered up with Floyd Mayweather Sr. during this camp will make a big difference for him. I like him to win by unanimous decision.
