Yes, they’ve got MMA odds for Friday’s Bellator card on Spike TV. And the odds say Quinton “Rampage” Jackson should get a sound thrashing from Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal.
Here’s the great thing about running a fight promotion: You’ll never run out of product. Even the UFC isn’t big enough to hoard all the talent. The folks at Bellator haven’t been shy about signing up big-name fighters who may be a little past their prime – fighters like Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, who will grace the Rosemont Horizon this Friday (9:00 p.m. ET, Spike) to take on Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal in the main event at Bellator 175.
Not every sportsbook will have this event on the MMA odds board. But we’ve dug deep, peeled back the layers, and found lines for this event at bet365 and Matchbook. Suffice to say it doesn’t look good for Rampage; he’s the 5-2 underdog at bet365, while Matchbook has Jackson pegged at 11-4. Lawal is a 1-3 chalk at both books.
Jackson (37-11 lifetime) is definitely the most recognizable name on Friday’s card, and go figure, he’s drawing most of the betting action for this fight. Three years ago, Jackson earned a unanimous decision over Lawal (20-6 lifetime, 1 NC) in the final of Bellator’s Season 10 Light Heavyweight tournament. Should be a cakewalk for Rampage, right?
Not so fast. That decision was highly controversial; Sherdog had Lawal winning the first and third round of this three-round fight. They’ll be moving up to Heavyweight for Friday’s rematch, and Lawal should be better able to handle that adjustment. He’s 8-2 since that loss to Rampage, including multiple matches at Heavyweight, while Jackson is 2-0 with one fight as a Heavyweight and another at catchweight.

Given the results of their first bout and the passage of time, plus the added public action on Rampage, it seems prudent to add King Mo to our MMA picks this Friday. But don’t reach too far into your wallet and/or purse. If it goes to the judges’ scorecards again, Jackson could get the benefit of the doubt – and a fat payday down the road against Fedor Emelianenko.
