The road teams in the CFL made it a clean sweep both straight-up and against the spread in Week 4 of the regular season. Heading into Week 5, two CFL Picks will cash for you.

I made the right call on Hamilton last week as a slight road favorite against Montreal, but the combined 67 points in British Columbia’s road win against Saskatchewan went well OVER the closing total line to sink my parlay play. This week, I am sticking with the early games on the schedule with a parlay pick based on the current betting lines at BetOnline.

Game 1
Calgary Stampeders vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Pointspread: Calgary -5.5
Total Line: 50

Betting Preview
Calgary is coming off a bye week following a 1-1-1 SU start while going 2-1 ATS. Bo Levi Mitchell threw for 368 yards and two touchdowns in a rare 26-26 tie against Ottawa in Week 3 and on the year he has 910 passing yards and five scoring strikes in three games. The Stampeders are averaging over 400 yards of total offense a game including close to 100 yards a game on the ground. This kind of balance has led to an average of 26.7 points a game.

The Blue Bombers stunned Hamilton as heavy road underdogs in Week 3 and their last time out they came up just short in a 20-16 loss to Edmonton as 3.5-point underdogs at home. Drew Willy has also gotten off to a hot start at quarterback with 1,239 total passing yards and five touchdown passes in his first four games. Winnipeg is averaging 20 points a game, but it has raised this number to 24 over its last two contests.

Betting Trends
The Stampeders have covered ATS in six of their last eight games dating back to last season and the total has stayed UNDER or ended as a PUSH in 11 of their last 15 games.

The Blue Bombers are 8-18-3 ATS in their last 29 home games and the total has stayed UNDER in eight of their last 10 games played at home.

Head-to-head in this West Division tilt, Calgary has won nine of the last 10 meetings SU and it is 3-1-1 ATS in its last five road games against Winnipeg. The total has gone OVER in six of the last nine meetings played in Winnipeg.

Betting Prediction
I am looking for both Mitchell and Willy to have another big day throwing the ball against a pair of suspect secondaries. I like Calgary’s chances to cover on the road; however my top CFL pick in this one is the OVER on the 50-point total line with both teams racking up some points on Thursday night.

Free CFL Pick: Over 49½ -110
Best Line Offered: at Bookmaker

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3035600, "sportsbooksIds":[93,238,169,118], "LineTypeId":3, "PeriodTypeId":1 }[/]

Game 2
Ottawa RedBlacks at Saskatchewan Roughriders
Pointspread: Ottawa -6
Total Line: 55

Betting Preview
Ottawa has clearly established itself as the team to beat in the East after winning the division last year in just its second season as the RedBlacks. The big story in their 3-0-1 SU start this year has been the stellar play of quarterback Trevor Harris. He has been unstoppable so far with a league-high 1,475 yards passing and nine touchdown throws. Ottawa has posted 129 total points in its first four games and its offense is racking up an average of 531.3 total yards an outing.

The Roughriders (0-3 SU, 1-2 ATS) are off to another rough start after posting just three SU wins last year. Adding injury to insult is quarterback Darian Durant’s playing status for Friday night after leaving last week’s 40-27 lopsided loss to British Columbia with an injured ankle. If he cannot go, look for Mitchell Gale to get the start. He completed 17-of-30 passing attempts for 247 yards and a score in place of Durant last week.

Betting Trends
The RedBlacks are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against a team with an SU losing record and the total has stayed UNDER in five of their last six road games.

The Roughriders are 0-5 ATS in their last five games against a team with an SU winning record and the total has gone OVER in six of their last seven games at home.

Ottawa won both meetings last season SU and ATS and the total has gone OVER in three of the last four games between the two.

Betting Prediction
Even if Durant can play on Friday night, I still like the RedBlacks’ chances to stay on a roll with a big road win that covers the six points. I just cannot see Saskatchewan keeping pace on the scoreboard all night long.

Free CFL Pick: Redblacks -6 -105
Best Line Offered: at Bodog

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3035631, "sportsbooksIds":[92,1096,93,169], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1 }[/]
