Redemption is the goal for drivers after several disastrous showings at Darlington. Find out which ones have a shot to win this week with our Hollywood Casino 400 NASCAR picks and preview.

The NASCAR postseason started with utter chaos last week. The Lady in Black lived up to her name as several playoff contenders failed to tame the track. In the end, Erik Jones took the No. 43 car to the Southern 500 victory lane for the first time in 55 years.

This week, the series returns to Kansas City for the second race of the playoffs. Humbled drivers will look to turn their championship chances back around. Kyle Larson won the last fall race at this track. Kurt Busch won the race here in May.

Here are our picks for the Hollywood Casino 400 (odds via BetMGM, WynnBet, and Barstool Sportsbook).

Who Will Win the Hollywood Casino 400?

Hamlin (+600)

Denny Hamlin has registered four top-5 finishes over his last six races on this track. This includes back-to-back wins in 2019 and 2020. Overall, the No. 11 has 11 finishes inside the top 10. Ten of those were top-5 finishes including three wins. He is also seventh among active drivers in career laps lead at Kansas Speedway.

In the spring race, Hamlin started 18th and fought his way up to a fourth-place finish. He snapped a five-race streak of poor finishes in the process. Last week, he was the most successful of the playoff drivers by placing second in a wild race at Darlington.

Larson (+800)

Very little has gone right for Larson lately despite a win at Watkins Glen. The No. 5 car finished 35th or worse in two of his last six races. He also finished 12th and 14th in that span. That may not seem bad on the surface, however, Larson had only two finishes outside the top 14 in the entire playoffs last season.

Larson suffered mechanical issues last week at Darlington. It appeared he would not finish the race at all at one point. His team managed to help him fight his way back on the lead lap and to an eventual 12th-place finish.

The No. 5 took home the checkered flag here last fall. In the spring race, Larson led 29 laps and finished second.

Wallace (+2000)

In May, the No. 45 car was the strongest car on the Kansas Speedway. Busch led 116 of the 267 total laps and won the race. While the No. 45 car will be back out on the track this Sunday, Busch will not pilot the Root Insurance Toyota. Instead, Bubba Wallace will be behind the wheel to keep his owner in contention for a championship.

Wallace did not do too badly himself in the spring, finishing 10th after starting from the 24th position. He and his team enjoyed a solid run between Loudon and Michigan, turning in four top-10 finishes with three of those inside the top 5. His best finish in that span was second place in Michigan.
