Former Heisman Trophy-winning QB Johnny Manziel will make his first start since being acquired by Montreal this season, and he'll do it against the team that traded him to the Alouettes.

Masoli’s early play led to a recent trade that sent Manziel to Montreal. While Masoli’s numbers have been impressive with 1,914 yards passing in his first six games, he has tossed only five touchdowns against six interceptions. In Friday's matchup he'll see a familiar face across the field, as Montreal announced Tuesday that Manziel will move into the starter's role against his former team.

The Alouettes were the worst team in the CFL last season with three SU wins, and they have lost five of their first six games this year while going 2-4 ATS. The total has stayed "under" in four of the six games behind an offense that has posted a grand total of 92 points. This unit has yet to score more than 23 points in any of the six games.

The switch to Manziel should be a step in the right direction to turn things around, but it could take some time given his lack of experience in this league as well as the long layoff from playing at all.

The Tiger-Cats are 2-4 both SU and ATS, with the total staying "under" in four of their first six games behind an offense that is averaging 21.8 points per game. Toronto has sunk to 1-5 SU with a 2-4 record and its issues at quarterback are going to make it tough to cover even with the five points at home.

Saskatchewan Roughriders at Edmonton Eskimos (-8)

When: Thursday, 10 p.m. Total Line: 53
Analysis: This should be a good test for the Roughriders after coming up well short in last week’s game against the best team in the CFL. Edmonton (4-2 SU, 2-4 ATS) has shook off some early season rust on defense and Mike Reilly is playing at a very high level at quarterback. This combination should help the Eskimos cover at home.

British Columbia Lions at Calgary Stampeders (-11.5)

When: Saturday, 9 p.m. Total Line: 52
Analysis: BC comes off a bye week at 2-3 SU with a 3-2 record ATS. Despite the added rest, they do not have the horses to run with the Stampeders on the scoreboard in this West Division tilt. Chalk up another double-digit victory by going chalk on Calgary SU and ATS.

Week 7 Review

Last week in the CFL, the favorites were the best bet with a 3-1 record straight-up and against the spread. Calgary has been the top team this season both on the field and at 5Dimes, and I rode that trend last week in my top CFL pick with the Stampeders topping Saskatchewan SU and ATS to bring home another winner.
