Sports handicapper Ian Cameron provides a betting preview of Week 14 in Canadian Football League action.

We Got You Covered">Hamilton Tiger-Cats vs Saskatchewan Roughriders
The Saskatchewan Roughriders notched only their 2nd win of the season last Sunday in a thrilling come from behind win in OT against the Edmonton Eskimos. Even though this is a 2-10 team, Saskatchewan has rarely shown signs of quit especially in each of their last four games in which they have gone a perfect 4-0 ATS losing by margins of 8 points or less in three consecutive games against Edmonton and Winnipeg twice before finally getting over the hump and winning a close game against the Eskimos last week. The Riders continue to play hard and compete despite what has been a very trying and difficult season for them in the first season as head coach and GM for Chris Jones. Saskatchewan QB Darian Durant hasn’t put up eye-popping stats this season but he hasn’t made a ton of mistakes either and has managed to keep his team in most games while the defense continues to finally improve allowing 40 points in the last two games combined.

Hamilton enters this game on the heels of a hard fought 20-17 win against Montreal last week but the Ticats are a banged up football team dealing with plenty of key injuries heading into this game. Hamilton will be without the services of WR Chad Owens for this game as well as arguably their best offensive lineman Peter Dyakowski and best player in the secondary Courtney Stephen. On top of that, WR Luke Tasker and Junior Collins along with RB’s C.J. Gable and Ross Schuerman (Hamilton’s top two running backs) are all injured and haven’t been practicing. Each of them are no sure thing to be on the field Saturday in Saskatchewan either and the Ticats continue to tinker with an offensive line that has not been consistent with protecting QB Zach Collaros or opening holes for the ground attack.

Hamilton barely escaped with a win against a bad Montreal team at home last week and I think they will be in tough to win this game by any sort of margin. Saskatchewan is 3-1 ATS in their last 4 home games and the only non-cover during that span on this field was a 9 point loss to the best team in the CFL (Calgary). It is surely worth noting Saskatchewan was humiliated 53-7 by Hamilton last month at Tim Hortons Field and I think that loss still resonates with the Riders heading into this one. I expect a tight game here making the points worth taking on the home dog and I’ll make Saskatchewan my CFL betting pick.

Free CFL Pick: Saskatchewan +5 -105
Best Line Offered: at Bookmaker
CFL POW Record: 8-5 62%

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3035657, "sportsbooksIds":[93,238,19,1096,92], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1 }[/]

Not Satisfied?
