A new Premier League season is here, and Leicester City will open the new campaign at home versus Sunderland. Who should we favor with our soccer picks?

Odds Overview
Believe it or not, the Foxes are clear-cut favorites on the soccer odds board for this weekend's season opener at King Power Stadium. They're in the +105 to -105 range to notch the victory and subsequent three points, which leaves the Black Cats as pretty significant underdogs.

On the Premier League odds board right now, we can find Sunderland available for action at anywhere from +250 up to +315, with a draw considered more likely in the +230 to +245 range.

Leicester City
Having not participated in the Premier League for 10 years, the Foxes weren't exactly expected to tear it up this past season, and many thought there was a good chance they'd be relegated back down to the Championship.

Leicester had other ideas though, closing out the season in strong fashion to finish a respectable 14th place in the top flight. The Foxes also reached the fifth round of the F.A. Cup, though they can't have been too pleased with an early exit (second roun) in the Capital One Cup. Leonardo Ulloa was the team's leading goalscorer in the 2014/15 campaign, scoring 13 total goals, 11 of which came in league play.

Heading into the new campaign, Leicester has tried to bolster the squad in hopes of surviving relegation once more and perhaps even challenging for the top half of the table. Christian Fuchs, Robert Huth, Shinji Okazaki, N'Golo Kante and Yohan Benalouane were all brought to the club for varying fees, while Chris Wood (to Leeds) was the only notable player to depart. Okazaki and Kante are expected to take on big roles for the Foxes this coming season, with the Japanese striker set to lead the attack (he's scored an impressive 43 goals in 93 international matches for his country) and Kante arriving to shore up the middle of the park.

Sunderland
It's safe to say it wasn't the most successful of seasons for the Black Cats, although they did manage to survive relegation when everything was said and done. They ended up in 16th place in the Premier League and lost in the fifth round of the F.A. Cup and third round of the Capital One Cup.

Goals were few and far between for Sunderland last season, considering Connor Wickham was the team's leading scorer in all competitions despite only scoring SIX goals in all. That's rough. The Black Cats will really need to get their act together in front of goal this season if they want to stay up again.

Perhaps some changes to the squad will make the difference. Wickham was sold for nine million pounds to Crystal Palace, headling a group of three to leave the club. The Black Cats made a few notable additions however, signing deals with Jeremain Lens, Younes Kaboul, Sebastien Coates and Adam Matthews. Lens was the prized catch and figures to help bolster the attack after a very successful stint with Dynamo Kyiv.

Premier League Pick
We were expecting to see a different set of lines for this match, as we thought oddsmakers would have both sides at similar prices.

However, it looks like they're pretty confident in Leicester's chances of protecting their home pitch and making a great first impression in their first official encounter of the season. And, after some closer inspection, we're inclined to agree.

The Foxes made some solid additions to their squad ahead of this campaign and they were not an easy team to reckon with whatsoever inside King Power Stadium. Things rarely come easy in the Premier League, but for this soccer pick we do expect to see Leicester do just enough for the victory.

Premier League Soccer Pick: Leicester 2 Sunderland 1

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":, "sportsbooksIds":[43], "LineTypeId":2, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
