Can Costa Rica bounce back against the hapless Canucks tonight when match day 3 in group B gets underway? Find out as we analyse this match up & serve up choice soccer picks.

Canada At Disadvantage
It's not been a bright tournament for Canada in the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup, a far cry from the impressive deposit by their nation's opposites in the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup last month, who topped their group and reached the quarterfinals.

Flying the Maple Leaf high at the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup is going to be an impossible task in the last chance saloon. Boasting a measly point after two rounds, the Canucks are down in group B and on the verge of going out of the tournament. A point separates them from Costa Rica and El Salvador in the table, while three points separate them from current group leaders Jamaica.

A win over Costa Rica on Tuesday at the BMO stadium in Toronto could salvage their campaign and send them into the quarterfinals, but at hefty +260 soccer odds to pull off the feat it's a long shot soccer pick.

High hopes may have preceded the Canucks at the start of the tournament, but those look now to have been rather misplaced after two rounds. Canada opened their tournament with a lacklustre scoreless draw to El Salvador. Then they succumbed to an inspired Jamaican side 1-0 after conceding a last gasp, stoppage time goal.

Costa Rica Look To Bounce Back
Costa Rica began the tournament as group B favourites to win and advance into the knockouts, but back-to-back draws have taken the shine off their soccer odds a touch. They are now priced at +300 to win their section behind Jamaica, favoured at -225 soccer odds.

It's worth noting that Costa Rica are still one of the top favourites to lift the coveted trophy at +900, third behind USA at +110 and Mexico at +138. Clearly, while they've not accounted according to market expectations in group betting, if they advance into the knockouts they're expected to figure significantly.

This market outlook is entirely down to their 2014 FIFA World Cup account that saw them beat European powerhouse Italy, South American heavyweight Uruguay and Greece as well as draw England, before losing to the Netherlands on penalties in the quarterfinals.

Despite their less than stellar account in two rounds, Costa Rica are still very much in play to advance into the quarterfinals. What's more, a draw or a win over Canada could be enough to send them through. Indeed, a win by Costa Rica is trading at +110 soccer odds at Bet365 while a draw is on offer at +220.

Match Betting Tips and Picks:
Costa Rica and Canada are faced with a must-win game. That alone makes this a tough match to handicap.

On one hand, Canada have the home advantage. As well, they haven't played too badly in the tournament really. Bad luck and pressure can be chalked to the results of their first two games.

On the other hand, Costa Rica have had to live up to high expectations. Going into the tournament with a target on their backs, opponents have taken it to them, knowing full well that a positive result against the section favourites will improve their chance for a spot in the knockouts. It's also worth keeping in mind that this isn't the same team that embarked on the Cinderella run in the finals.

Putting these contrasting realities, it may seem that both sides have a reasonable shot to advance. In our opinion, however, the Costa Ricans are still the class of group B and they have enough firepower to do some damage against Canada in Toronto. Take Los Ticos at +110 to win this must-win game and advance into the knockouts.
