We’ve had a rough start to the season, but it’s only a small blip on our overall goal of seasonal profits. After two straight losing days, the WNBA schedule-makers have opened up a three-game slate of intriguing and juicy WNBA Odds.

However, they only lost that game by seven, barely missing out on a cover. This was despite them playing a really, really bad game from start to finish.

Now they are on the road, but this time they are against one of the more banged up teams in the league. If there was ever a time for a get-right game, this one is it.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

psst.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
It's game day. 🗣 pic.twitter.com/5WvsMKqK8H
— Chicago Sky (@wnbachicagosky) June 28, 2019
\n\n"}[/]

Jewel Loyd is another causality for the Strom in this WNBA season. Now the Storm are down their top two guard and young Jordin Canada is going to have to shoulder a lot of the load left out by Loyd’s injury.

On the flip side, the guards for the Sky have been playing better with every passing game. Diamond DeShields could be due for a bounce back, while veterans Courtney Vandersloot and Allie Quigley have been playing great recently.

This line has already been getting pounded, but I was able to snag the Sky at +3 before the odds moved down to +2.5. Buy the half point if needed, but I’m taking the points and putting a small moneyline play on the Sky to win and cover here.

Indiana Fever vs Phoenix Mercury

Friday, June 28, 2019 - 10:00 PM EDT

My Pick: Fever ATS

Recommended Sportsbook: Pinnacle

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3741911, "sportsbooksIds":[238,19,93,169,180], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]

Indiana Fever at Phoenix Mercury

The Mercury are one of the best teams in the league when healthy, but I am many other WNBA observers and handicappers have underestimated how seriously the absence of Diana Taurasi has been to this team early in the year. Taurasi is working her way back, but while it looked like she had a chance to make her season debut tonight, it looks like she’ll be on the sidelines yet again.

It’s a smart move for the Mercury long term. The WNBA season is long and not as important financially to the women as their overseas careers are. Furthermore, the Mercury could look at the Fever as beatable, even without Taurasi.

I was at their first meeting of the season at Bankers Life Fieldhouse where the Fever were absolutely demolished by DeWanna Bonner and Brittney Griner. They could see this as another round of that, but I’m not sold just yet.

The Fever have shown they are a deep and talented team. Their defense is still a work in progress, but they have some solid individual defenders like Betnijah Laney. They also have one of the more efficient offenses in the league, averaging 103 points per 100 possessions. That ranks behind only the Mystics for the league lead.

That hasn’t gone away from them much this season and even on the road, their ORtg drops to 101.6, which is negligible.

The other key for Indiana, other than making shots and trying to keep the Mercury from dropping 100 points on them, is they don’t quit. Pokey Chapman has this team coached very well. Their average margin in losses this season is just 6.3 points.

The Mercury are a solid team and they are getting better, but they also are vulnerable enough to a Fever cover in this one.
