Join us on our daily coverage of the ATP French Open. Find out our top tennis picks for the Semifinals and why should you place these two valuable tennis bets.

Stan Wawrinka (3) vs Andy Murray (2)
Andy Murray is for the 4th time on his career in the semifinals of this event yet, this is the only Grand Slam event where Murray wasn’t able to reach the decisive match. Despite facing some troubles throughout this event – with Andy needing five sets to defeat Radek Stepanek and Mathias Bourgue and also recovering from a set down against Richard Gasquet – Murray always found a way to emerge victorious, thanks to his experience and terrific physical condition. However, he has been far from reliable and giving too many chances to his opponents, which is usually fatal against the other top players.

It has been a very good tournament for Stan Wawrinka, who is now just two wins away from defending his title in Paris. We picked Stan to cover his spread on the previous round against Albert Ramos and the Suisse matched the expectations, dismissing the Spaniard by 6 – 2 6 – 1 7 – 6. Stan’s firepower was just too much for Ramos, ending the match with 49 winners / 43 unforced errors and allowing only 10 winners / 26 unforced errors to the Spaniard.

This will the 16th career meeting between these two players with Murray leading on h2h by 8 – 7.

Despite Andy’s lead on h2h, Stan won the last three meetings between them and also won all their three previous encounters on clay. This should be a high quality contest with Murray’s defensive skills contrasting with Wawrinka’s firepower. If this match was played on a Masters 1000 event Murray would have the edge but on a Grand Slam event, Wawrinka is a different player and he should get the job done here. With this in mind, our suggestion is for you to add Stan to your tennis picks as the best play for this match.

Novak Djokovic (1) vs Dominic Thiem (13)
It has been a superb tournament for our dark horse on this event, Dominic Thiem, with the Austrian reaching the semifinals and giving us a huge win on our bet for Thiem to reach this stage of the competition at +650. It was far from an easy match for Dominic in the quarterfinals against David Goffin, with the Belgian very close from having a two sets to love lead; however, Thiem fought back and found a way to emerge victorious by 4 – 6 7 – 6 6 – 4 6 – 1.

In our quarterfinals analysis, we picked Novak Djokovic to win his match in straight sets against Tomas Berdych and the Serbian matched the expectations, with a 6 – 3 7 – 5 6 – 3 triumph over the Czech. Djokovic solid baseline game was just too much for Berdych, ending the match with 30 winners / 22 unforced errors. One of the highlights on this match goes to Novak’s ability to mix things up, using very often the drop shot and hitting 7 drop shot winners – 23.33% of his winners on this match.

These two players will face each other for the third time on their careers, with Djokovic winning the previous two in Shanghai 2014 and Miami 2016, both by 6 – 3 6 – 4.

This will be the first meeting between these two players on clay and Thiem can never be underestimated on this surface. Dominic is at the semifinals of a Grand Slam event for the first time on his career and is always hard to predict how a player is going to react to this situation. However, Thiem is a tremendous competitor and with nothing to lose, there is clear value on his tennis odds to win at least one set on this match.
