Join us and find out our two top betting selections for Australian Open Day 7. We'll provide a detailed analysis, explaining why you should grab these two valuable tennis picks.

Roberto Bautista Agut (24) vs Tomas Berdych (6)
After two tough five sets matches against Martin Klizan and Dusan Lajovic, Roberto Bautista Agut surprised the 2014 US Open champion, Marin Cilic, with a straight sets victory. We picked the Over on that match, expecting a good resistance from Agut, but the Spaniard performed even better than expected. Roberto’s baseline consistency and high intensity were just too much for Cilic to handle. Agut’s second serve return was one of his main weapons, winning 56% of points on Cilic’s second serve.

The two-time Australian Open semifinalist, Tomas Berdych, avoided a possible upset against Nick Kyrgios in the third round. The Australian has been playing very good tennis, but the Czech emerged victorious with an extremely solid performance. Berdych is known for not being very strong mentally, but he managed to keep calm against such a unique player like Kyrgios, who had the Rod Laver Arena supporting him. Like it happened on Agut’s match, Berdych 2nd serve return was the key for his victory, with the Czech allowing only for Kyrgios to win 37% points on his second serve.

This is the 6th match between this pair, with Berdych leading the h2h 3 – 2. Only one of those matches was played on a Grand Slam, with the Czech winning 6 – 1 6 – 2 6 – 7 6 – 4 at the French Open in 2014.

Berdych is in very good shape and Bautista Agut’s baseline pace can’t create much problems to the Czech. Tomas has the firepower to overplay Roberto and the courts in Melbourne suit Berdych’s game style. Having said that, we’re picking the value on Berdych’s spread tennis odds as the best play for this match.

Belinda Bencic (12) vs Maria Sharapova (5)
The three-time runner-up and 2008 Australian Open champion, Maria Sharapova, has been very impressive throughout the week. Despite losing her first set on the competition against Lauren Davis, the Russian made a terrific performance, ending the match with 16 aces, 44 winners / 42 unforced errors. Maria loves the conditions in Melbourne and with the Russian serving at such great level it will be very hard to stop her.

Belinda Bencic will be looking to book a place on a Grand Slam quarterfinals for the second time in her career, after reaching that stage in 2014 at the US Open. Belinda had a very tough 3rd round against Kateryna Bondarenko, but was able to recover from a set down too book a place into the 4th round.

This will be the first career meeting between these two players, with Bencic trying to surprise another top 10. The Suisse has a terrific 10 – 6 record against top 10 opponents, however Maria is playing unbelievable tennis. As we mentioned in our previous analysis, Maria’s serve is a great indicator of her confidence and she has been outstanding on serve. Belinda will try to hit the ball very early with her shots down the line, but Sharapova’s defensive skills, aggressive baseline game and serve quality might be too much for the young Suisse. With this in mind, we suggest to add a split on Maria spread and set handicap to your tennis picks.
