Marton Fucsovics vs. Roger Federer (2)

Marton Fucsovics couldn’t have asked for more on his debut in the Australian Open main draw. The 25-year-old arrived Melbourne Park without a main draw Grand Slam victory in his three previous attempts but that didn’t stop the player from Hungary to reach the fourth round of the Australian Open. Adding to this, Fucsovics already secured his career-high ranking after this tournament with an unprecedented appearance in the top-65. Taking a look now at Marton’s campaign on this event, the former junior world No.1 reaches this stage of the competition after a straight-sets victory against Nicolas Kicker.

Roger Federer continues his quest for a sixth Australian Open title. The Swiss hasn’t dropped a set yet on this event with a 6 – 2 7 – 5 6 – 4 win over Richard Gasquet in the previous round. On the other hand, Federer won 95.60% of his service games in Melbourne Park with an impressive average of 0.91 aces per service game. At the age of 36, the 19-time Grand Slam champion secured a spot in the second week of the Australian Open for the 16th time in his career.

The sportsbooks expect a straightforward win from Federer with Pinnacle offering only -303 for the Swiss to win the match in straight-sets. Even though we agree with Roger’s favouritism, this should be a closer match than the odds suggests. Moreover, Federer was never able to cover the -9.5 spread on his previous three matches on this event. With this in mind, our recommendation is for you to take advantage of the value on Marton’s tennis betting odds by placing a bet on the Hungarian to cover his spread.

Su-Wei Hsieh vs. Angelique Kerber (21)

As we predicted in our Day 6 analysis, Angelique Kerber proved too strong for Maria Sharapova. The former world No.1 is now the only Grand Slam champion remaining in the Australian Open women’s draw after an impressive 6 – 1 6 - win over the Russian. Kerber extended her winning streak to 12 matches in 2018 and is already the main contender to lift the trophy in Melbourne for the second time in her career. Known as one of the greatest defenders in tennis history, the 30-year-old ended the match with only 7 unforced errors against 26 from Sharapova.

Su-Wei Hsieh’s fairytale run continues in Melbourne Park. Regardless of this Monday’s outcome, the 32-year-old already secured her return to the top-75 for the first time since June 2016. Against all expectations, the former world No.1 on the WTA doubles ranking secured a spot in the second round of the Australian Open for the first time in 10 years. Adding to this, Hsieh recorded her first ever win over a top-5 opponent with a straight-sets victory over Garbine Muguruza in the second round.

These two players will face each other for the second time in their careers with Kerber winning their previous encounter at the Mutua Madrid Open in 2013.

Despite Hsieh’s brilliant campaign on this event, it’s impossible to go against Kerber. The German is getting closer to her 2016 level when she won two Grand Slam titles and become the world No.1. Due to the low price on Angelique’s moneyline, our suggestion is for you to add her spread to your betting picks as the best betting approach for this match.

Free Tennis Pick: Angelique Kerber -6 (-127)
