The 2015 French Open champion – Stan Wawrinka – continues his brilliant run in Roland Garros. As we mentioned in previous analysis, Stan is a big match player with an astonishing 62 – 10 record on Grand Slam events since his triumph at the 2014 Australian Open. Taking a look now at Wawrinka’s campaign in Paris, the three-time Grand Slam champion reaches this stage of the competition after an outstanding 6 – 3 6 – 3 6 – 1 win over Marin Cilic. Despite facing one of the best servers on the ATP World Tour, Wawrinka won 50.00% of the points on Cilic’s serve.

Despite some concerns regarding Andy Murray’s physical conditions before this tournament, the world no.1 is just one win away from a second consecutive appearance in the decisive match in Paris. Known as one of the greatest defenders in tennis history, Murray won 39.80% of his opponents’ service games in Roland Garros. Despite losing the opening set against Kei Nishikori in the previous round, Andy proved too strong for the 27-year-old Japanese.

This will be the 18th career meeting between these two players with Murray leading on the h2h by 10 – 7.

Despite Andy’s lead on the h2h, Wawrinka won 75.00% of their previous four matches on red dirt. Adding to this, Stan is also an incredibly tough opponent on Grand Slam. With this in mind, our suggestion is for you to add Wawrinka’s moneyline to your betting picks to secure a place in the final.

Rafael Nadal (4) vs. Dominic Thiem (6)

At the age of 23, Dominic Thiem is for the second consecutive year in the semifinals of Roland Garros. Playing on clay brings the best out of Thiem with a phenomenal 84.62% winning record on red dirt in 2017. Adding to this, Dominic reaches this stage of the competition in Paris without dropping a single set. Looking now at Thiem’s campaign on this event, the world no.7 booked a place in the semifinals after a surprising straight sets victory over the defending champion – Novak Djokovic.

The nine-time champion – Rafael Nadal – continues his quest for an unprecedented 10th title at the French Open. Known as one of the best clay-court players in tennis history, Rafael holds a phenomenal 77 – 2 career record in Roland Garros. Besides not losing a single set on his path into the semifinals, Nadal only allowed his opponents to win an average of 1.69 games per set in Roland Garros.

These two players will face each other for the 7th time in their careers with Nadal leading on the h2h by 4 – 2. However, Thiem emerged victorious from their previous encounter at the Internazionali BNL D’Italia a few weeks ago.

Despite Dominic’s recent victory in Rome, playing against Nadal in Roland Garros is a completely different. On the other hand, it won’t be easy for Thiem to maintain a high level in back-to-back matches against two of the best players in the world. Having said that, our advice is for you to take advantage of Nadal’s tennis betting odds by placing a bet on the Spaniard to cover his set handicap.

Free Tennis Pick: Rafael Nadal -1.5 Set Handicap (-200)
