Playing in Roland Garros brings the best out of Gael Monfils with an astonishing 73.17% winning record in Paris throughout his career. Monfils couldn’t have asked for a better way to start his campaign in Roland Garros with two straight sets victories against Dustin Brown and Thiago Monteiro. Taking a look now at Gael’s numbers throughout this tournament, the highlight clearly goes to his return to serve with the world no.16 winning 53.80% of his opponents’ service games in Paris.

After defeating Victor Estrella Burgos in the previous round, Richard Gasquet secured a place in the 3rd round of Roland Garros for the 7th consecutive year. Besides winning 52.44% of the points on Estrella Burgos’ serve, Gasquet ended the match against the Dominican with 27 winners and only 16 unforced errors. In addition to his solid performance, Richard seems to be fully recovered from the back injury that prevented him from competing in Madrid and Rome.

These two players know each other very well. Not only are they good friends outside the court but this is also the 14th career meeting between them with Monfils leading on the h2h by 7 – 6.

Despite Gasquet’s recent victory over this opponent in Marseille, Monfils is a completely different player in Roland Garros. With this in mind, our suggestion is for you to take advantage of Gael’s tennis betting odds by placing a bet on Monfils to secure a place in the 4th round.

Stan Wawrinka (3) vs. Fabio Fognini (28)

Known as a big match player, Stan Wawrinka presents a phenomenal 59 – 10 record on Grand Slam events since 2014. As it had happened last year, Wawrinka arrived in Paris after winning the Geneva Open. Taking a look now at Stan’s campaign in Roland Garros, the 2015 champion reaches this stage of the competition after two straight sets victories against Josef Kovalik and Alexandr Dolgopolov. Besides not losing a single set so far on this event, Wawrinka won 90.63% of his service games in Roland Garros.

The 2011 French Open quarterfinalist – Fabio Fognini – returns to the 3rd round in Paris for the first time since 2014. Despite his undeniable talent, Fognini is also known as one of the most inconsistent players on the ATP World Tour. Fabio’s result in the opening round against Frances Tiafoe is a perfect example of that with Fognini winning that match by 6 – 4 6 – 3 3 – 6 1 – 6 6 – 0.

This will be the 7th career meeting between these two players with Wawrinka winning five of their previous six encounters.

Even though Fabio may create some problems to the 3rd seed, Wawrinka should be too strong at the end. Adding to this, it’s highly unlikely to see Fognini performing at a consistent level throughout the entire match. Therefore, we expect to see Stan winning at least one set by a big margin, which makes Wawrinka’s spread the most valuable play to add to our betting picks on this match.
