Now that the Citizens are top of the league, they'll want to stay there. Getting three points at home to Chelsea on Monday would go a long way. Who will you be adding to your soccer picks?

Odds Overview

These soccer betting odds are likely to fluctuate with plenty of time still left until kickoff. For now, City is favored in the -115 to -125 range, with Chelsea listed at around +350 and a draw at +250 to +275.

Manchester City

City's staggering form continued in the mid-week clash with Tottenham. The Citizens got an early goal from Sergio Aguero, who later had to leave with an injury, and then capitalized on a Danny Rose red card, scoring the subsequent penalty and then adding three more goals.

Yaya Toure was the one to convert from spot, with Edin Dzeko, Stevan Jovetic and Vincent Kompany also getting in on the goalscoring. It was Jovetic's first Premier League goal of his career.

With Arsenal and Chelsea each held to a draw, the Citizens leaped into the top spot of the Premier League standings. They're now one point ahead of the Gunners and two up on the Blues.

With that said, there's no way we can overstate the importance of this upcoming match at the Etihad, where City has been simply remarkable this term. They've won all 11 of their league matches there and have scored 42 goals while allowing only eight.

The bad news is it looks like Aguero will be out for this top three showdown, unless he can make a remarkable recovery from what appeared to be a hamstring strain. It does seem likely, however, that fellow striker Alvaro Negredo will return to the fold after missing some time with a shoulder problem.

Days after a nervy 1-0 home win over Stoke City in the FA Cup, the Blues were unable to inspire in a 0-0 draw with West Ham at Stamford Bridge during the week.

It was one of the most valiant defensive efforts you're going to see this season, as the Hammers survived an absolute onslaught throughout to hold on for the point. In all, Chelsea had 39 total shots, nine of which on goal. In comparison, West Ham had only one shot on goal.

It just wasn't meant to be for Jose Mourinho's side, who failed to capitalize one day after watching Arsenal get held by Southampton.

Now the Blues head back on the road, and they haven't been nearly as convincing away from Stamford Bridge this season. As opposed to going undefeated in 12 home league matches, they've recorded five wins, three draws and three defeats away.

Chelsea has already had success against City this season, beating them 2-1 at home thanks to goals from Andre Schurrle and Fernando Torres. In this corresponding fixture last year though, the Blues fell 0-2 in Manchester, as Toure and Carlos Tevez got on the score-sheet. What kind of match will we see this time around?

Premier League Pick

The Blues are incredibly talented, we all know that, but they're going to have to put forth a special performance at the Etihad if they want even a draw out of this match.

Unfortunately for Mourinho's men, we just don't believe they'll have what it takes to get the better of this in-form City side.

We expect more of a defensive battle than anything else in this fixture, making the UNDER 2.5 goals an attractive-looking wager, but we also believe the Citizens will squeak past with the narrow victory to get the three points for our free soccer picks.
