Sunday night sees two old rivals battle it out in the Capital as fourth spot Inter visit Roma who sit sixth. How should we approach this match-up from a football betting standpoint?

Serie A Week 21 Game of the Week

Roma vs. Inter

The hosts have lost three on the bounce away from Stadio Olympico and heavily so, conceding six and scoring just once but at home have won their last three beating both AC Milan and Fiorentina 4-2 in that sequence. The same score in this one is at  33/1  Serie A betting odds, available at William Hill and Inter do seem to struggle in the Capital and have not exactly been firing on all cylinders themselves in recent weeks.

The two have almost identical records with three wins apiece from their last six but Roma lost the other three whilst Inter lost two and drew one. Roma are EVENS to get within three points of their opponents, whilst Inter are 11/5 to cement fourth place and move nine points in front of their rivals both with William Hill. The draw is at 3/1.

It cannot be ignored that Inter never ever seem to do well in the Capital and the Capitolini are certainly a different proposition at home but they have lost their last two games on the bounce in Serie A. Both sides won their respective Coppa Italia ties this week to make the Semi's and both played extra time and were involved in some last minute drama in those games, shall we say! So they may both be fatigued but no excuses here please!

I like Inter in this one for some reason though and see them as the last of the top four to have a chance to really challenge for the title in reality.

As I mentioned in the other preview, they could also move to within four points of a possible three way tie for the title and they will know if that is the case as they take the field in this game. Sticking my neck out in this one and going against the record somewhat, I am leaning towards The Nerazzurri who have not lost this season when scoring first in Serie A.

Inter have some fresh injury concerns after their Coppa Italia win for our football betting, with playmaker Antonio Cassano and striker Diego Milito both doubts but with Rodrigo Palacio able to start with either Tommaso Rocchi or Marko Livaja in their stead I still fancy them to turn over an underachieving Roma and to take all three points and to gain revenge for the 3-1 reverse in Week 2 of Serie A. That score you can get for 22/1 with William Hill but I am betting the under 2.5 at 17/10 with bet365 in this one as I expect it to be a tight game.
