Serie A: AC Milan vs. Bologna
No sweet revenge when Bologna takes on AC Milan in Serie A this weekend.
There's plenty of news about AC Milan at present and plenty of reason to back them in this weekend's sports picks. AC Milan midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has been invited to attend the United Nations' International Day for the Elimination of Racial, there's rumours of David Beckham being Milan bound and yet more talk about Jose Mourinho picking up at the Italian club once he washes his hands of Real Madrid but apart from all that there's the little matter of football to contend with when AC Milan host Bologna on Saturday.
Enough about rumours and gossip…WHERE’S THEMONEY MIKE?
Looking at the last fight head-to-head meetings between these two sides a very clear pattern emerges. AC Milan have come out on top three times, twice away from home and once in Milan while Bologna only have a pair of drawers, one home and one away (both last season) to shout about.
Another draw is available at 15/4 while you can pick up betting odds of 14/1 on it being 1-1 as it was back in April last year and odds of 25/1 on 2-2, as it was in December 2011. Looking a little bit deeper we can see that AC Milan have outscored Bologna 10 goals to 4. To crunch those numbers alone you would bet on the game ending in Milan's favour and either 2-1 or 3-1, those scores or available at 7/1 and 8/1 respectively.
Looking at the last five matches that these sides have played in all competitions, ever so slightly favours Milan. They are looking at two wins two losses and a draw while Bologna are looking at three defeats and two victories from their last five. Still I don't think that will translate into a draw on the pitch even with the bookies having this game ending tied at 7/2. If you do think that this game will end tied don't back 0-0 at 14/1, as despite it being the score from Milan's most recent outing that was the only time that Milan failed to score and failed to concede a goal in their last five and Bologna has scored in four of their last five games and kept just one clean sheet in the same run.
Look to a Decent Score
I'm tempted back over 2.5 goals in this game for my football betting ticket. Looking at the last five matches each side had played they've amassed a grand total of 35 goals, and for those of you that can't do the maths that averages out as 3.5 goals per game is that these sides have been involved in. Rounding that up those games’ goals, three – one looks like the most sensible bet and backing Milan to win seemed to be the most sensible form.
Bologna may want to exact some revenge on the city of Milan after Andrea Ranocchia scored in the last minute of extra-time to give Inter Milan a 3-2 Coppa Italia win and spoil Bologna’s fight-back from two goals down. But I don’t think they’ll get it against AC Milan.
