Per Sam Marsden and Moises Llorens of ESPN FC, Barça is expected to offer €100 million, Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Rakitic for Neymar.
PSG likes Coutinho but they want FC Barcelona to include Nelson Semedo instead of Rakitic. The teams will begin negotiations today, with director of football Eric Abidal and technical secretary Javier Bordas representing Barça during discussions.
Paris Saint-Germain will send sporting director Leonardo and super agent Pini Zahavi, who helped secure Neymar’s transfer to PSG in 2017.
ESPN FC also reported that PSG rejected FC Barcelona’s initial offer of €60 million plus Coutinho in July.
Neymar played four years with FC Barcelona before his surprise move to Paris Saint-Germain for €222 million. Leonardo recently said that negotiations for Neymar were “more advanced than before” and Real Madrid recently tried to sign him as well.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez wants Neymar but head coach Zinedine Zidane does not. Neymar prefers to join FC Barcelona but PSG initially avoided selling him to them.
Neymar’s future in France was up in the air even before he did not return to Paris Saint-Germain’s pre-season activities on time on July 8 and he was left out of the team’s 3-0 win against Nimes in the start of the new Ligue 1 season.
