Sources told ESPN FC that Barça will make an offer to sign Neymar on loan from Paris Saint-Germain this week with an option to make the deal permanent next summer.
Sam Marsden and Moises Llorens of ESPN FC reported last week that FC Barcelona offered €100 million, Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Rakitic for Neymar but PSG wanted Nelson Semedo instead of Rakitic and the deal was not made.
ESPN FC also reported that Paris Saint-Germain rejected Barça’s initial offer of €60 million plus Coutinho in July.
Neymar played four years with FC Barcelona before joining PSG for €222 million in 2017. Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo recently said that negotiations for Neymar were “more advanced than before” and Real Madrid recently tried to sign the Brazilian forward as well.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez reportedly wants Neymar but head coach Zinedine Zidane does not. Neymar wants to join FC Barcelona but Paris Saint-Germain initially avoided selling him to them.
Neymar’s future in France was up in the air even before he failed to return to PSG’s pre-season activities on time on July 8 and he was left out of the team’s first two Ligue 1 games this season.
