Manchester City hardly looked like champions when they went down 3-1 away to Southampton, and it's fairly safe to say that their chances of retaining the Premier League title have slipped through their grasp as the bookies no longer think that they are worth backing. The defeat left them nine points behind league leaders Manchester United and the gap was stretched all the way to 12 points when United beat Everton on Sunday.
Leeds have issues of their own, looking quite unlikely to snatch a play-off place after a last minute equaliser cost them two points against Wolves at the weekend. They are currently five points and nine goals behind sixth placed Middlesbrough. This will probably count for nought when these two teams take to the pitch next Sunday with the scent of FA Cup glory in their nostrils.
Enough with the nostrils…WHERE’S THE MONEY MIKE?
City now on a three-game winless run while Leeds are winless in two. I think betting on this game gives us a chance to make some big money if you bet on the underdogs. Leeds will fancy their chances as Manchester City were well beaten by Southampton, a side at the other end of the table and failed to score against Queens Park Rangers, the side dead last in the English Premier League.
The bookies only have one thing on their minds, and that’s Manchester City winning.
That is offered up by most oddsmakers at 1/6 while a draw is 6/1 Lee's victory goes as high as 18/1. By all means have a little bet on Leeds winning as City could go into full-on tailspin and you could take advantage of that. However don't get greedy and dump too much on that happening as City should have received a proper “talking to” from their manager after a performance that made him “angry”.
Short odds – Small returns
The smallest odds on the correct score are City winning 2-0 and 3-0, both around 6/1 Mark. You might also want to check out 5-1 which is offered up at 25/1, a score that is still way ahead of the 50/1 offered up at Leeds winning 1-0. City winning both halves is offered up at 4/7 if you want to squeeze some money out of betting on the 45 min and the 90 min mark you should know Leeds going in on top at the break, but City coming out on top at 90 min is a very tempting 25/1. If you're feeling vicious and you want to wish bad things on City why not have the Citizens leading at the break and the game ending draw, something that is available at whopping 33/1.
But all in all I suggest you do the sensible thing and add Manchester City to your FA Cup Predictions, you’d have to be a gum chewing 71-year-old Scotsman expect anything else.
Prediction: City win 4/1 available at 15/1 with Bet Victor.
