The FA Cup has been a bit of a bummer to some. A few have even lost interest in the Cup altogether, due lack of effort, or better put, many a squad’s lack of regard for the outcome of their FA Cup fixtures.

FA Cup Tips: West Ham United vs. Manchester United

Apart from English Football, there is some action in spain this week~

Speaking of a team interested in disinterest, this Saturday at 5:15 MNT (11:15 EST) West Ham will host Manchester United at Upton Park in the 3rd round draw and pray that the Red Devils show some of this nonchalance that has become apparent in FA cup play.

The Sides - Can Manchester Utd. Step Up and be the Man?

Man U

Given the FA Cup dominance that has been shown by Chelsea of late, Man Utd. has to put forth a little bit Grudge Effort, right?

The Public seems to think that the Red Devils will show up to play. Most of the action being laid on this match is coming in on Man Utd. and for good reason.

Their depth as a team has shown lately, in the way that they have decimated their opponents over the last few days of play. The Red Devils eviscerated Wigan on New Year’s Day 0-4, handily beat West Brom 2-0 and  put away a hard fought game against Newcastle 4-3.

West Ham

The Hammers are a bit banged up. With Carroll’s return more than questionable, West ham will have to rely heavily on the scoring ability of Kevin Nolan. If the rest of Nolan’s mates pitch in on the attack, the Hammers have a shot at making this another rivalry-like, heated match until the bitter end. But, if Nolan doesn’t have sufficient offensive support…it could be a long day indeed.

The Last Time Around

When these two clubs faced off at the end of last November, things went a little differently than normal for the Red Devils. Normally, Manchester Utd. comes out a little slow, then picks it up down the stretch. This time, Robin van Persie struck fast and hard, scoring within the first minute. The rest of the match turned out to be a hard fought defensive battle ending in a 1-0 Manchester win.

A look at the odds

If you dare to think that just maybe, Manchester Utd. will show up with the above mentioned who gives a s%*t about the FA Cup mentality, you can find a draw at 11/4 betting odds from BET 365 and Will Hill alike.  Some shops like Bet Victor, are giving a value of 14/5.

If you think that West Ham will have put Super Unleaded in their tanks as well as nonchalant attitude taken on the part of the Red Devils, you can find a West Ham win at 21/5 at Bet Victor.

So far, over 50% of the public is siding one way; most peoples’ money is laying in stacks at 4/6 odds for a Manchester win.

FA Cup Prediction

I don’t believe that West Ham United will show up with enough in their tank to keep up with Ferguson’s boys. They won’t splurge and toss out the extra dough to fill up with Super. And when these two engines are both running on Regular, it’s the better tuned one from Old Trafford that will come out on top.
