Two teams who were talked about as relegation candidates, started the season well, picking up wins with two goals margins, so what gives? William Hill's Lee Phelps looks at the odds for his free pick.

Two teams who started the season with new managers and a bang square up in game week two of the Premier League  as West Ham host Leicester City on Saturday. I’m expecting goals.

West Ham
Slaven Bilic’s style as a manager is attack when he can. I’ve studied his Besiktas team of last season and the tactics he employed and the evidence shows an offensive approach, so much so that it left his team open at the back.

We saw a clever tactical display from the Hammers beating Arsenal 2-0. That was a totally different type of game, where West Ham could sit back, soak up any pressure and then rely on their excellent forward players to create and score chances.

They will have to make the game against Claudio Ranieri’s Foxes though. The Londoners will keep the ball for long spells and look to open up the away defence. With a handful of competitive games under their belt, I expect them to be fitter than their opponents too.

Leicester City
After the rollercoaster ride of Nigel Pearson’s Premier League reign, Foxes’ fans must have been delighted to see their team start so fast and score four goals on opening day. It reminded me of their early season form in 2014/15 when they scored goals for fun (five versus Manchester United remember), but also conceded plenty too.

It will be fascinating to see how Ranieri sets them up in an away game. They should go to Upton Park to frustrate the home side, but I wonder if they will have the discipline required. They have a poor away record at the Hammers losing seven of the last eight there, while the Italian boss also struggled there, losing three of his last four. Add to that Leicester’s poor London record (they have gone 20 Premier League games without a win in the capital, drawing just three) and it looks a tough task.

Soccer picks
I really like a West Ham win here at 2.6 (13/10) and think over 2.5 goals at 1.91 (10/11) is a valuable soccer pick too, with four of the last five head-to-heads seeing three or more goals. The attacking talent on show and the fact I think Leicester will be more open than they should be, also lends itself to a higher goals expectation.
