Everton vs. Swansea City
To no one's surprise, the Toffees are listed at 10/19 to win at Goodison Park this weekend. If you believe the Swans can add another impressive victory to their belts, you can back them at a very appealing price of 21/4.
Meanwhile, you always want to consider a draw in this league, which is priced out at 3/1 in the Soccer betting odds.
Five days after a stirring away win over Newcastle, the Toffees cruise past Cheltenham 5-1 in the F.A. Cup.
Nikica Jelavic, Leighton Baines, Leon Osman, Seamus Coleman and Marouane Fellaini all got their names on the score-sheet. Considering the number of shocking cup results we've seen in the past, we can't fault David Moyes too much for fielding a full strength side. Obviously it paid off.
Everton will be looking for their fourth league win in five matches, with the only defeat coming against Chelsea. They've been picking up points at a good rate and that's keeping them near the top of the table, right where they want to be.
One of the main concerns for the Toffees has been their inability to find the clinical touch and put teams away. They have nine draws to their name this season, the second-most in the league, including four at home.
That being said, at least Everton hasn't been losing much on their own field. They've only fell victim once (against the Blues), so we like their chances of getting the job done against the pesky Swans for our football betting.
We've reached a point in which no one wants to play Swansea City. This team is capable of pulling off a massive result on any given day, and the Swans have done just that, multiple times already.
The latest coup came earlier this week in a 2-0 win over Chelsea in the first leg of the Carling Cup semi-finals. Oh by the way, the match was at Stamford Bridge. Michu and Danny Graham capitalized on two Branislav Ivanovic blunders to shock the masses in London.
With Swansea City also already beating Liverpool at Anfield and Arsenal at the Emirates, we guess it's time to stop being that surprised when these types of results come.
The Swans, however, are starting to fall a bit behind in the league race. At the moment they're in ninth place, having only won once in a six-match span, meaning they're nine points back of the top four.
We like to talk about quality players and Michu is undoubtedly one of those. He put the game away against the Blues and has scored a total of 16 goals across all competitions this season. What a tremendous addition the Spaniard has turned out to be.
Premier League Pick
There's a terrific mood around the Everton camp these days, with long-time servant Leon Osman stating this is the best Toffees squad he's ever been involved with. We tend to agree.
These outfits already squared off in Premier League action, with Everton notching an amazing 3-0 away win. Goals came from Victor Anichebe, Kevin Mirallas and none other than the afro-toting Fellaini.
And even though the Swans will be full of confidence, we can't help but think they won't be able to match up with the Toffees.
The Swans had a tough time with Everton's bruising and physical style the last time out and we think they'll fall short once again. Albeit, in a match that could end up being decided in the closing minutes.
