Stoke City look to extend their winning form to four in a row when they descend on West Bromwich Albion on Saturday. With soccer odds already trading, join us as we serve up our soccer free picks.

Stoke City Hot On the Trot
Three wins in a row to improve to 12-6-10 and 42 points and ascend the table two spots to the dizzying heights of eighth place, you could say it's a great time to be a Potters fan. Before you know it, they might even start entertaining dreams of European grandeur. Bet you never figured Stoke City hobnobbing with the jet-setting European set, now did you.

OK, that might be pushing it. Qualifying slots for European club competitions are a minimum of eight points away. With just ten games left on the Premier League betting calendar,  there are those who would argue it's too ambitious a goal for the Potters to achieve within the amount of games left; not to mention, pulling it off at the expense of some of the league's heavy hitters; Chelsea, Liverpool, Southampton and Tottenham are just some of their remaining opponents.

In any event, on the face of it, Stoke City appear to be enjoying brilliant form. It would be lovely to add that this run of form is behind convincing wins against stiff opponents because only stoic heroism and swashbuckling football can give it the seal of authenticity. Lovely it might be, but it's not exactly the truth.

Not to take anything away from the Potters, but it's important not to overstate their form. They only just eked out the 2-1 win over Aston Villa thanks to a 92nd minute penalty while Hull City generously donated the 1-0 win in a drab affair at the Potteries. They did beat Everton 2-0 in week 28 EPL betting, but how much of it is down to the Potters when the Toffees are conspicuously off colour and off form this season is debatable. Many would argue that Everton's loss is symptomatic of their anaemic Premier League season and nothing else.

That being said, a win is a win. And winning begets confidence, which will only serve the Potters well when they visit their former manager Tony Pulis and his struggling Baggies in the Midlands on Saturday. Stoke City are the underdogs at +240 on the soccer odds board, but, admittedly, this is a matchup they might relish under current circumstances: a seemingly weaker opponent that is ripe for the taking.

West Bromwich Albion Remain On The Fringes Of Relegation
West Bromwich Albion are after back-to-back defeats to Aston Villa in Premier League and FA Cup, respectively. While they'll be glad to see the backs of Villa, how keen on the Potters' upcoming visit will they be remains to be seen. For starters, it's sure to be a bittersweet reunion for Tony Pulis and his old team.

Sat pretty in 13th place with a 7-9-12 record and 30 points, West Brom are only eight points clear of the relegation zone. They are trading on large +2500 soccer odds to be relegated by season end, which should offer some comfort to their fans. Still, there are ten rounds of Premier League betting left and it would be irresponsible to assume they are safe. Premier League survival is their objective and the next few rounds are sure to be season-defining.

Odds makers provide succour by sending the Baggies into their upcoming clash with the Potters as the notional faves, albeit trading at +130 to win outright. Underscoring those odds is a run of three straight wins at home, all of which were clean sheets no less.

They beat Swansea City 2-0, West Ham United 4-0 and Southampton 1-0. The best bit or rather what makes this run of form at home authentic and worth considering towards your soccer picks is that all these are top-half-of-the-table clubs they beat and did so without conceding a goal. That's defensive excellence at its best and a trademark of Pulis' managerial style and why he's widely considered a master at resurrecting clubs in England's top flight.

Soccer Betting Verdict
This matchup is shaping up to be a battle royal between two sides that have a lot to prove in the coming weeks of Premier League betting. There's a lot to recommend the visitors, who strike an attractive pose as the +240 underdogs, a price tag that belies their current run of form both home and away. There's also a lot to recommend the Baggies, who strike a convincing pose as the +130 home faves on the soccer odds board given the recent scalps at the Hawthorns. Short of crystal ball, it's impossible to determine which side's form will unequivocally rule the day. In lieu of such, we're going to be prudent with our soccer picks instead and opt for the draw, which is trading at +210. If both sides live up to their form, it's quite possible they'll cancel each other out on the field.
