Manchester United take on the hapless Sunderland Black Cats in match day 7 of the Premier League. Here’s our soccer betting preview for this clash complete with soccer picks.

Manchester United Closing On Top
Manchester United are up to second place in England’s top flight following a 3-2 win over Southampton at St. Marys at the weekend, coming through as the notion +130 closing favorites on the soccer odds board.

All in all, it was a brilliant display from the Red Devils on the road, improving their away record to 2-0-1 in three games and their overall record to 4-1-1 on the season and 13 points, two points behind Manchester City, who were losers on match day 6 behind a shocking 2-1 upset at home to Slavan Bilic and the Hammers.

Anthony Martial, the most expensive teenager in England’s top flight, scored twice as Man United beat Southampton. Since coming to the Premier League for a whirlwind sum of £58 million, Martial has been up to the gruelling, demanding task, showing a maturity that belies his tender 19 years of age. Indeed, some soccer analysts are calling it the most impressive start to a career in the English Premier League that has ever been seen.

However, David De Gea, who earlier in the season explored a transfer to Real Madrid, was world class for the Red Devils and largely to his stoic play between the posts the Red Devils went on to win the match. He made two brilliant saves to keep the Red Devils in with a shot to take the away win and the crucial three points.

De Gea’s masterclass becomes more apparent when one considers Southampton dominated the first 45 minutes of the game and looked to be the more threatening side on the field, all while overwhelming the Red Devils. They went up first with an early strike before Martial levelled the score 20 minutes later as the first half was winding down. In the second half, the tide swung in favour of the visitors wholeheartedly and they went up 3-1 over the hosts behind Marital’s second and Mata’s goal in the 68th minute, which proved to be the winning goal. Although the Saints got one back, time ran out and Man United held on to the win.

Sunderland Propping Up the League
Sunderland Black Cats are struggling something awful in England’s top flight, propping up the league with a listless 0-2-4 record and two points. On the road, they are 0-1-2 in three games, which includes scoring four goals and conceding a whopping 8. Overall, in six rounds, they’ve conceded 13 goals, which is an average of 2 per game approximately.

The Black Cats are riding a two-game losing streak ahead of this clash with losses to Tottenham and promoted AFC Bournemouth. They can’t seem to buy a win no matter how hard they try in the early goings of the season and things aren’t looking promising for Dick Advocaat and his meek Cats in match day 7, when they head to the Old Trafford. That’s putting it mildly. They are matched as the whopping +1200 underdogs. Ha!

Soccer Betting Verdict
There is only one conceivable result in this game and that is a Man United win, but at -500 soccer odds we’re not having any of it. It’s too pricey a soccer pick with very little in the way of good return. Best value soccer pick we can find is the OVER 2.5 -175 and No to both teams to score at -163.

Premier League Soccer Picks: Manchester United -400 & Over 2.5 (-175) and No bet for Both Teams to Score at -163 at Bet365.
