EPL Match Day 25 Recap
Leicester City’s dream season continues. The Foxes are sat pretty atop the table, five points clear of nearest threat Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal and six points clear of title favourites Manchester City. Indeed, they advanced their bid for the title with a win over the Citizens in the last lap of English top flight

Elsewhere, Chelsea and Manchester United settled on a 1-1 draw, Southampton defeated West Ham 1-0 and relegation-threatened Aston Villa clinched only their third win of the season.

Here we look at the upcoming round of the Premier League, complete with soccer odds. Below we feature several standout matchups to spot on your soccer picks.

Chelsea vs. Newcastle United
Chelsea have enjoyed much better fortunes since Jose Mourinho’s unceremonious departure, but they’re still a ways away from the top half of the table and reclaiming their place in the league’s elite. In all likelihood that’s an objective for the next season. They are 7-9-9 and have 30 points through 25 fixtures, putting them 23 points adrift of top of the table Leicester City. They are, however, only nine points adrift of sixth placed West Ham United, which presents a reasonable gap to hope to close by season end. In their upcoming date with Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge, odds makers give the Blues a realistic shot at all three points by sending them into the game as the overwhelming -225 favourites or thereabouts depending on your sportsbook of choice. A market outlook underscored by a positive run of form in their last six which features two wins and four draws. The Magpies, however, aren’t being given enough consideration and appear to be largely underrated at +700 soccer odds. Granted they are hovering near the relegation zone with a 6-6-13 mark and 24 points, but they are coming off a win in the last round. They are also a so-so 2-1-3 in their last six games. More importantly, the Magpies have a good record against the Blues in recent games which could send them into this game on a measure of optimism. Earlier this season they settled on a 2-2 draw at St. James Park. Prior to that the sides have split six meetings evenly, albeit with each side winning at home.

Arsenal vs. Leicester City
Can Leicester City throw down the gauntlet at the Emirates, earning the respect of the bookies once and for all? It’s not entirely improbable despite the rather discouraging soccer odds. It’s no accident the Foxes are at the top of the table after all. They are 15-8-2 on the season with 53 points, a mark that includes solid form home (7-4-1) and away (8-4-1). Most recently, they beat title favourites Man City 3-1 at the Etihad. Surely, that’s enough to buoy their chances and gain a positive result at the expense of Arsenal. Keep in mind the pressure is mostly going to be on the Gunners to win this game and close the gap on Leicester City in the table. That’s not all they’ve got to think about. It’s a very busy week or two ahead with an FA Cup date with Hull City and an ensuing date with Barcelona in Champions League. Arsene Wenger is going to have to be mindful of all these pivotal fixtures. One wonders whether the pressure of the occasion is going to be all too much for the Gunners; if they have the mettle to take on the Foxes and come away to the good. Many have tried and failed. Would it be so surprising if the Gunners were to fall to the Foxes too? Certainly, the way they’ve been playing their soccer odds deserve a tickle.

Manchester City vs. Tottenham Hotspurs
The Spurs are surging in the Premier League behind a four-game winning streak that includes wins over Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Norwich City and Watford. Clearly, they hit their stride in a soft spot of the schedule and took advantage of their lesser opponents, but it would be gravely remiss to dismiss this run of form out of hand. One can’t ignore momentum or the impact a winning mentality can have on a team. Not to mention their proximity to the top of the table unequivocally suggests they should be taken seriously. They are sat second with a 13-9-3 record and 48 points, which includes a solid 6-5-1 record on the road. Only the Foxes have lost fewer (2) games than the Spurs this season. On the other side of the coin, the Citizens are sporting suspect form with a 3-2-1 record in their last six games. What’s more, they’ve gone 9-1-3 at the Etihad this season, with losses to Leicester City, Liverpool and West Ham United. Is there any reason why the Spurs can’t add to that list of home defeats? The outright win is worth the bet in our opinion at a high of +279 at 5Dimes, but prudent bettors might fancy the draw at +265 or hedge their bets with a double chance bet on the Spurs to win or draw at -150.
