As soccer fans look at the various coupons this weekend, the odds on Manchester City to beat Leicester will tempt many in to a wager. Our tipster is looking at the betting and trying to find some extra value with his free pick.

The last thing you need when you haven’t won a game in 10 is a visit from the resurgent Champions, but that’s exactly what Leicester have got at home this Saturday as Manchester City return from conquering Roma.

Leicester City
I read this about the Foxes’ hopes for the season back before a ball had been kicked: “Failing to start just six matches all season between them, Leicester City's success was built around goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, centre-back Wes Morgan, midfielder Danny Drinkwater and striker David Nugent. This solid backbone provides the foundation for the rest of the side to flourish.”

Well Schmeichel is now injured and out for at least a month, Wes Morgan is banned, Nugent has been ineffectual, as we said he would before the start of the campaign, and Drinkwater has been used a sub in six matches.

Maybe this is where they have lost their way having taken to the top division so well, with draws against Everton and Arsenal, a good defeat against Chelsea and the now-infamous 5-3 win against Manchester United. Maybe they believed their own hype? Maybe the inclusion of superstar Cambiasso made them feel like they had ‘made it’? No-one knows of course and it’s probably a few things, with confidence being the most serious one.

The confidence has been dripping back in, first of all by ending the goal drought, next they need a point or a win. Leonardo Ulloa’s return to scoring should spark something in their memories, his goals were the spearhead of that fine early season form.

But can they continue the growth in belief with such a skilful and accomplished team coming to town, they certainly won’t have any trouble getting up for game.

Manchester City
Since that Sergio Aguero-inspired comeback against Bayern Munich, City have started to look back to their best, with four wins added to the victory preceding the Munich win, against Swansea, so all in all they have six straight successes.

Rather than just say this is an open and shut case, with City strolling out easy winners, I’d prefer to look at any possible deficiencies in Manuel Pellegrini’s team. First of all they played in a tense, exciting Champions League group decider in Rome with a fantastic outcome in EPL soccer odds and one which will have been celebrated, in a small but emotional way I imagine. They flew back and had Thursday off, before training Friday and setting off on the short journey to Leicester.

What about the opposition? It is plainly a low taking on the bottom team in the Premier League having silenced tens of thousands of Italians days before and I wonder if City can get themselves ‘up’ for this game. To be honest, even if they are only half up for it, I still expect them to win, but it may just give us a way of betting at a bigger price.

Soccer Picks
Having scored four goals in three games, I think that for this Soccer pick it's important to realize Leicester can score against Manchester City and maybe even score first. We’ve seen on numerous occasions how City have come from behind to beat opposition and to do that again here at 7/1.

The sensible version of that bet, allowing for a consolation goal from Nigel Pearson’s men is to for an away with both teams to score at 21/10.
