English Premier League Picks: Parlay Bet for Matchday 5

Chelsea vs Liverpool

Sunday 22nd September at Stamford Bridge

Flash’s Game Note

Frank Lampard’s young Chelsea side have taken to Premier League life like ducks to water. Liverpool travels down to London protecting a 100% record, and with Chelsea conceding goals, the thought of Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino coming to town must give the Chelsea defenders sleepless nights.

As good as the Blues are progressing there is still a gulf between the two sides. I cannot find a case for the home team to trouble this elite squad. Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount have both found the net in previous weeks, coming up against Virgil Van Dijk and co is a totally different proposition.

Strength movement and pace combined with individual brilliance should see the Premier League leaders teach the home sides youngsters a lesson in how the big boys do it. Frank Lampard’s tactical coaching is going to have to reach new heights if he is going to keep the free-flowing visitors quiet. Liverpool look unbelievable value at +105 to continue their winning ways.

Tip: Liverpool to win +105 Liverpool -1.5 Asian Handicap +2.75

Southampton vs Bournemouth

Friday 20th September at St Mary’s

Flash’s Game Note

This Friday night South Coast clash is for potential bragging rights until the two sides meet again next May. Southampton seems to have a nice balance between steel and flair. Both sides meet on the back of good wins.

The home side will have a near fully-fit squad to choose from. Bournemouth score goals through a positive pattern of play. The Saints adaptable way of either playing on the break or keeping the ball and waiting patiently for the gaps to open gives them the edge.

Moussa Djenepo produced last week an individual goal right out of the top draw. The Cherries also have a proper goal threat in Callum Wilson. Goals look very much on the cards with a Cup tie atmosphere expected at St Mary’s. I give the deciding vote to the home side who will find this fixture a little easier than the last two visitors to St Mary’s (Liverpool, Man Utd).

Tip: Southampton to win +105 Both teams to score and ov 2.5 +100
