English Premier League Matchday 5 Betting Odds, Tips & Predictions

Watford vs Arsenal

Sunday 15th September at Vicarage Road

Flash’s Game Notes

Arsenal have been boosted for the Premier League London Derby with Watford. Alexandre Lacazette’s last outing versus Spurs ended early with what looked like a hamstring strain, Unai Emery must have been delighted to hear it was just a touch of cramp.

Another delighted gunner would have been strike partner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who scored the only goal in last seasons 1-0 victory in the corresponding fixture. Watford also have some good news going into this tough match, Quique Sanchez Flores returns to the club that sacked him over 3 years ago.

This Arsenal side put on a very impressive performance in the recent highly charged London Derby with Spurs, coming back from two down to draw 2-2 and look the most likely winners in the closing stages. Matteo Guendouzi is coming of age and displaying the type of performances Arsenal had hoped this 20-year old’s talent would produce. This game is all about the impressive Arsenal front line of pace and creativity.

The Watford crowd will try and make this a tough outing for their near neighbours and a rousing reception for the returning boss is almost guaranteed. I love this match up for an Arsenal victory and expect more than the one goal margin of last season.

Sheffield Utd vs Southampton

Saturday 14th September at Bramall Lane

Flash’s Game Notes

Both Sheffield Utd and Southampton enter into this game with their tails up. The Blades getting an unexpected 2-2 draw away at Chelsea and the Saints drawing 1-1 at home to Manchester Utd ending the game with 10 men.

Expect all-out attack from the home side as they go in search of their second win at Bramall Lane. The visitors will not be overawed by Chris Wilder’s men and will also fancy their chances of returning to the South Coast with maximum points. An end to end game must be on the cards as the two sides will be highly confident of winning.

Sheffield Utd has a unity and a high-intensity work rate, while Southampton has good pace and vision on the break. Chances can appear from any situations, set-pieces are also strengths of both sides.

This matchup has a cup tie feel about it, both managers and players will throw caution to the wind knowing the 3 points is definitely achievable. To predict Goals from both sides sits pretty well with me, predicting who wins certainly does not.

Tips: Both teams to score -110 , Both teams to score and over 2.5 +165
