San Jose go back to the area where two of their best results happened this season, but can they finally beat Portland? William Hill's Lee Phelpsis looking at the odds for his free betting pick.

Portland Timbers are set as home favorites on the mls odds board at -200 and the San Jose Earthquakes at +550 soccer odds offered by Bet365. Lets try ti find the betting value in this Sunday fixture.

Portland Timbers
Caleb Porter’s team have won five of their last six MLS games and are now just four points off top spot in the West. Their home form has been outstanding with just one defeat at home all season and five wins in the last seven.

Portland have two injury concerns, with Ben Zemanski still missing and Dairon Asprilla doubtful with an ankle sprain.

San Jose Earthquakes
Let's start off with the fact that they have never won away at Portland. The Timbers have won three and drawn three of the six previous meetings, but they have enjoyed their trips to the North West with two wins over Seattle.

They have won their last two games as well, including a 3-1 victory over fierce rivals LA Galaxy in last week’s Californian Clasico.

The bad news is on the injury front. San Jose are missing Sanna Nyassi, who is banned, while Innocent Emeghara and Steven Lenhart are both still injured. Chris Wondolowski is with the USMNT ahead of the Gold Cup and his absence could be a major loss.

Soccer Picks
Despite decent recent form, I don't see the Earthquakes shaking the Timbers' defence. They have only conceded one goal in their last five and while San Jose have a good scoring record, I think the home defence is stronger than the away attack. So for my soccer pick I'm taking the home win to nil at 2.5 (6/4).
