The Ducks made a move on Saturday to acquire forward Tomas Fleischman from the Panthers. He’s could make his debut on Sunday as the Ducks visit Dallas, Anaheim is a road fave on NHL odds in this one.

The Anaheim Ducks Can Win Because…
The Stars are in complete shambles right now. Dallas enters Sunday on a five-game losing streak, which unfortunately isn’t their longest of the season. Their goaltending has been a complete gong show of late as they’ve allowed at least four goals in each of those five losses. Overall, the Stars have given up 27 goals in their last five games. Plainly put, no team is going to win many games in the NHL giving up more than five goals per outing. The Stars can’t get any consistent from either Kari Lehtonen, who has allowed 14 goals in his last three, or Jhonas Enroth, who has been utterly useless since being acquired from the Buffalo Sabres.

As for Anaheim, they’re on a bit of a roll right now as they’ve won four of their last five games, this record makes them NHL betting odds favorites tonight. While they’re without lead goaltender Frederik Andersen, backup John Gibson has settled in and given the team steady play of late. He has allowed nine goals over his last four outings, which is pretty steady. If the Ducks get another performance like that from him on Sunday, they’re likely to get the win. There’s also the possibility that Andersen makes his return in this spot. He should give the team a boost as he’s 29-8-5 with a 2.37 GAA this season.

The Dallas Stars Can Win Because…
They’re playing decent…it’s just they aren’t cashing in. The Stars have held a lead entering the third period in three of the last four games but they haven’t been able to seal the deal. They’ve been very competitive during their five game losing streak but when the game has been on the line, they simply haven’t come through.

If the Ducks do have Andersen in net, there’s a good chance he’s rusty. We see this time and time again when goaltenders come back from long layoffs, it takes them a game or two to get back in it. Andersen has missed eight games and might not be sharp right off the bat. And regardless, he hasn’t been that strong on the road. He has a 2.43 GAA and .909 save percentage in away games this season. Overall, the Ducks are just 4-4 in their last eight road games and have proven to be much more vulnerable in away games. The Stars have an opening here.

Outlook
The Ducks should be the play on the side here but with their goaltending situation a bit in flux, we’ll stay away from them. Instead, I’ll look to go over. The Stars goaltending has been about as bad as it gets as their last five games have averaged 8.6 goals per game. Combined with the Ducks situation in net, we should see a high-scoring affair here.
