Tottenham Spurs must bounce back from defeat when they host Swansea City in midweek top-flight action on Wednesday. Join us as we preview this pivotal clash and deliver our soccer betting verdict.

Tottenham Spurs Focused on Top Table Finish
Top of the table finish and a Champions League qualification for next season hangs in the balance for the Spurs now that season is in the home stretch. A spate of poor results in the last few rounds of Premier League betting has caused a slide down to seventh spot in the table – most likely a direct result of putting all their stock into the clash with Chelsea at Wembley this weekend for their best shot at silverware, the Capital One League Cup. Now, however, that dream of silverware is over; rather it was Chelsea's ruthless quality and experience that carried the Blues to the 2-0 victory, not to mention the self-fulfilling belief in their preordained destiny to collect all silverware that ruled the day.

Nothing to it. Spurs must refocus their objectives on the season to their domestic campaign. Well, it's all that is left really as they were also dumped out of UEFA Europa League last week with a 3-1 loss on aggregate to Fiorentina. It's been a rough week for Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs, to say the least.

Actually, it's been a rough February altogether for the Spurs, who last won a game when they shocked Arsene Wenger and the Gunners in a 2-1 win at White Hart Lane. Since that impressive win, the Spurs have lost three and drawn two games (home and away) in all competitions. On the bright side, if we're to consider just their home form in the league, they are undefeated in their last eight games (five wins and three draws, which includes an impressive 5-3 win over Chelsea).

On the strength of that home form, the Spurs are the clear-cut faves at -133 Soccer Odds to win at the expense of Swansea City on Wednesday. Perhaps, this outlook blatantly disregards their recent dip in form altogether, ignoring the possibility it may spill forth. Consensus bets however fall in line with the soccer betting markets, so at least in one respect there seems to be symmetry.

Swansea City Look To Punch Above Their Weight Class
Garry Monk's Swans must be mindful of a Spurs side desperate to return to winning form when they descend on White Hart Lane on Wednesday in midweek Premier League betting, which marks match day 28. The Swans will hope to poop on that party with the unlikely win, which can be backed at staggering +400 soccer odds from Bodog Sportsbook, or the similarly improbable draw that is matched at +280 soccer odds. Problem is though they are notoriously inconsistent, making any recommendations to back either on your soccer picks a bit of a stretch.

At home, Swansea City is a tough nut to crack. Seven of their eleven wins this season have come about in their kop (7-4-3) and that form is largely responsible for the top-half of the table position (8th place with an 11-7-9 record and 40 points). Some of those include eyebrow raising wins over Man United and Arsenal (both 2-1 wins).

On the road, it looks to be a different story when considering their overall deposit, which stands at a 4-3-6 record through 13 away fixtures. Two of those wins however came within the second half of the season: a 1-0 win over Southampton and a 1-0 win over Burnley. In their last six outings, they are 3-1-2; in other words collecting points in four of the six. That has to give them some confidence going into a clash with a Spurs side that seems to have tapped out in recent weeks.

Soccer Betting Verdict
The Spurs have good enough form at home to make them the logical soccer pick at -133 to win outright in most soccer betting circles. One could go so far as to suggest they should win if only to atone for their recent spate of disappointments.

Yet, something about the Spurs suggests they aren't entirely on their game right now, which opens the slim possibility for Gary Monk's Swans to take advantage, either by the outright win or a share in the spoils. Now, this is a long shot pick altogether, not for the fainthearted. Actually, it'll take a brave soccer bettor to back Swansea City at +425 to pull off the upset at White Hart Lane. If you are such a bettor, it's worth a small risk at those tempting soccer odds. We're of the more prudent leaning, if you will. Rather recommending the safer option (and, still profitable one, of course) offered by the double chance Soccer Pick: the draw or Swansea win at +110.
