The first clue should be that “lasting love” and “reality show’ are rarely used in a sentence together. There are alleged spoilers below, so if you’re seeking a surprise tonight, move along.

Another season of “The Bachelorette” is coming to a close and all hopes are Hannah Brown gets her happily ever after.

Spoiler Alert! Don’t read any further if you don’t want to know what may unfold tonight and Tuesday on the popular ABC reality show.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

The questions end here. The unmissable 2-Night Finale of #TheBachelorette starts TONIGHT at 8|7c on ABC. pic.twitter.com/nyWkItyRP0
— The Bachelorette (@BacheloretteABC) July 29, 2019
"}[/]

It appears that Hannah may end the two-part “Bachelorette” finale alone and brokenhearted.

According to several published reports, after dumping the arrogant Luke P. it comes down to two: Tyler and Jed. However, after the dramatic ditching of Luke, Hannah needed time to sort her feelings. Apparently, two weeks. There were “dark days,” according to host Chris Harrison.

Here’s where it gets sketchy. The original spoiler more than a month ago had Hannah picking Tyler … but then the online columnist (“Reality Steve”) corrected himself and said that Jed was ultimately her final choice and an engagement ring was given.

But that’s isn’t the end of it.

According to People magazine, singer-songwriter Jed apparently came to the ABC reality show with a girlfriend left back in Nashville. Haley Stevens, also a singer-songwriter, told People she was four-months into a relationship with Jed when he left to be on “The Bachelorette.”

And when he returned to town, he ghosted her, never getting back in touch with her. They began dating after he applied to be a contestant, and she said he told her was trying to help his music career with the publicity the show brings.

“ ‘It’s probably not going to happen, but it’s a huge opportunity. I’m only doing this for my music.’ He only did it for his career,” she says he told her before being selected to participate.

Jed said he “only wanted to be top five … to be a major player so that it would be beneficial.” He also admitted this to Hannah.

Reality Steve also reports that Jed does tell Hannah about his “ex” but not until after the engagement. The truth that it actually hadn’t ended before he came to the show also comes out, casting doubt in Hannah’s heart.

On social media and TV appearances, Hannah doesn’t admit the relationship with Jed is compromised or over, but hints are dropped: on an appearance on “Burning Questions” with talk show host Ellen DeGeneres she reveals that “Misery” by Maroon 5 is the song that best describes her love life (ouch!).

Also, on “Entertainment Tonight,” Hannah says “My heart gets broken a lot for a lot of different reasons on this season ... Of course, Luke breaks my heart, but my heart gets broken through all of this because of just learning and growing and putting my heart out there in the way that I did."

Sigh, women looking for love on this show need to check its track record – a majority of Bachelors and Bachelorettes rarely end up with who they pick at the end – but the Bachelorettes do seem to do better at the picking.

Maybe contestants were lulled into thinking it would work because Trista Rehn, the first Bachelorette, did find love that lasted. She married firefighter Ryan Sutter in live TV wedding in 2003 and have two children.

Another successful “Bachelorette” season occurred in 2012, when Ashley Herbert wed J.P. Rosebaum, and the couple now has two children. Season 9 also ended in a 2015 wedding between Desiree Hartsock and Chris Seigfried.

Season 12, too, spawned is a long-term relationship between JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers. Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo of Season 13 are still together and told People magazine in March that they are hoping for a wedding by the end of the year.

And finally, Becca Kufrin, proposed to and dumped by race car driver Arie Luyendyk Jr. in the finale of Season 22 of “The Bachelor,” found love in season 14 of “The Bachelorette,” becoming engaged to Garrett Yrigoyen.

So in 15 seasons, were aware of six successful love matches. In sports terms that’s a losing season but likely a huge ratings win for ABC – and isn’t that really the point?

The two-part finale is Monday and Tuesday at 8 p.m. on ABC.
