An integral part of the preparation for Sunday’s 60th running of the Daytona 500 is Thursday night’s Can-Am Duels. This pair of 150-mile races will set the final field for the Great American Race in terms of each driver’s starting position Sunday.

Daytona Can-Am Duel #1 (7 p.m. FOX Sports 1)

The favorite to win the first Duel of Thursday at Daytona is Brad Keselowski at +350 betting odds from Bookmaker The value in this pick is definitely there after the No. 2 Ford took the checkered flag on Sunday in The Clash at Daytona. The motivation is also there to have a big week all around considering that Keselowski is still in search of his first victory in the Daytona 500.

The second-favorite to win this race is Joey Logano at +450. Behind the wheel of the No. 22 Ford, he will be looking for a fast start to a new season after highly-disappointing 2017 campaign in which he failed to even qualify for the playoff. Logano got things off to a solid start with a second-place run in last Sunday’s Clash. He will start this race in position No. 6 in the field of 20.

Jimmie Johnson is always a threat to win any race he runs as a seven-time Cup Series champion. His No. 48 Chevrolet racing team faded to 10th in the final standings last season after winning it all in 2016. This makes it safe to say that Johnson comes into 2018 Speedweeks with a chip on his shoulder. His betting odds to win the first Duel are set at +550 after placing 12th in Sunday’s Clash.

The betting odds for a few other notable drivers in the 20-car field include Ricky Stenhouse Jr. at +600 followed by Ryan Blaney and Kurt Busch at +750. Alex Bowman takes over for Dale Earnhardt Jr. this season behind the wheel of the No. 88 Chevrolet and his betting odds to win are set at +1200. Bowman already is set for the Daytona 500 pole.

Q: Where does your favorite driver start in Thursday's #CanAmDuel?

Daytona Can-Am Duel #2 (9 p.m. FOX Sports 1)

Denny Hamlin is always in the thick of things at Daytona during Speedweeks and he comes into the second Duel on Thursday as a +350 favorite to win. The No. 11 Toyota started from the No. 2 position in Sunday’s Clash and stayed in the mix with a sixth-place finish. Hamlin will start this race from the pole position to add some value to his odds. He is locked in to start No. 2 in the Daytona 500.

Another popular driver at Daytona is Kyle Busch, although he is still on the schneid when it comes to winning the 500. After finishing behind Hamlin in the Clash in seventh place, he will start this run as a +400 second-favorite in second position in the No. 18 Toyota. This pairing has the possibility to make this a true duel between the top two drivers in the field.

The third-favorite to win this race is Kevin Harvick at +550 betting odds. The No. 4 Ford was in the middle of the pack in ninth place for the Clash. Harvick will come out of the gates in fourth position Thursday night behind a trio of Toyotas (including Erik Jones starting third). The former 2014 Cup Series champ’s first and only victory in the Daytona 500 was back in 2007, so you know that he is geared up for this week.

Chase Elliott joins Harvick as a +550 third-favorite to win this Duel, followed by Kyle Larson and the defending 2017 Cup Series champion Martin Truex Jr. at +650 betting odds.
