Sure, they'd rather be in the final, but Peru & Paraguay are still going to be battling hard in hopes of earning that bronze medal. Let's examine the soccer odds for Friday's third-place match.

Odds Overview
It's almost a toss-up when it comes to the soccer odds, as there doesn't seem to be a clear-cut favorite like in the final featuring Argentina and Chile

As of now, Peru is quoted at +150 and Paraguay is more in the +190 to +195 range. Keep checking back with SBRodds in order to track any potential line movement and jump on any weak spots in the odds.

Considered a "little fish" when compared to South American giants like Brazil and Argentina, it's safe to say Peru has exceeded many people's expectations in the Copa America. They fell just short against the Argentineans in the semi-finals, but now they have a chance to exit the competition with their heads held high in the third-place match.

Let's relive Peru's journey so far in the competition. They didn't have a dominant group stage showing by any stretch of the imagination, but they squeaked through into the knockout round after picking up one win (Venezuela), one draw (Colombia) and one defeat (Brazil) for a total of four points. Peru then overcame Bolivia 3-1 in the quarter-finals before losing a heartbreak to Chile (2-1) in the semis.

Paolo Guerrero has been the main scoring threat for the Peruvians so far in the Copa America, scoring three goals in five appearances. He's the only member of the squad that's scored multiple goals in the competition, but we've also been very impressed with defender Advincula, who has looked like a rock defensively. He's going to have his hands full again on Friday agaisnt Paraguay.

Ugly. That's one word to describe Paraguay's performance against Argentina in the semi-finals. It had been an outstanding run for the country, but it all came crashing down when it mattered most.

We've seen a lot of grit out of Paraguay throughout the Copa America, as they battled through the group stages to emerge in the top two alongside Argentina, whom they drew 2-2 in the first meeting. The Paraguyuans then beat Jamaica 1-0 before drawing Uruguay 1-1 in their final group stage match. In the quarters they picked up a huge upset by overcoming Brazil in penalties, a result that they will remember for quite some time.

Unfortunately, the good times ended with a bang in the semi-finals, as Paraguay was no match at all for the talented Argentineans. They went down 1-0 after just 15 minutes and then looked on helplessly as Argentina tacked on five more goals. Final score? 6-1 in favor of Messi and company. It was a crushing blow, and you have to wonder what kind of mentality we'll see out of Paraguay after that kind of result.

Copa America Pick
Is there any kind of significant edge on the soccer odds board for Friday's consolation showdown in Conception?

It doesn't look like. Like oddsmakers, we're expecting an extremely close match here, with both teams generating chances yet still holding firm defensively.

That being said, we do think Peru will be able to do just enough to get the win. We've been very impressed with the quality they've shown throughout the competition, and they've really held their own against everyone they've played. Meanwhile, Paraguay could be a little demoralized after getting completely torn apart by Argentina.

So, as we finalize our soccer picks for what should be a grand final two days of the Copa America, we're going to be siding with the upstart Peruvians to close out things in positive fashion. Back Peru to secure the victory and thus the bronze medals at +150 at 5Dimes.

Pick: Peru 1 Paraguay 0
