It's been a rough month or so for the Crew, but they've been classified as the soccer odds-on favorites to beat the Galaxy this weekend. Let's preview this MLS showdown.

Odds Overview
The Crew are the favorites for this weekend's match, with sportsbooks listing them at roughly +120 to get the win in front of their supporters.

If you want to back the Galaxy, who have disappointed early on, you can find them at an appealing price of +230 or so. A draw is quoted at right around +250 on the MLS soccer odds board.

Columbus Crew
After a pretty solid start to their season, the Crew have hit a rough patch of form in recent weeks. They've failed to pick up a victory in any of their last five MLS matches, losing to San Jose, Philadelphia and Montreal and drawing with Chicago and Orlando City.

Most recently, Columbus lost 2-1 at home to the Impact. The honors were all even until Montreal found the back of the net in the 55th minute, and the Impact made it 2-0 in the 79th minute. In the end, the Crew's lone goal, scored by Federico Higuain, was nothing more than a consolation prize. Another forgettable result means Columbus hasn't tasted victory in essentially a month, a bad run of form that they'll want to break out of sooner rather than later.

If the Crew are to get back on the winning side of things, they're going to need continued production out of star striker Kei Kamara. The 30-year-old has already scored 10 goals in 14 appearances, with no other member of Columbus scoring more than three times. Kamara has been one of the most dangerous players in all of MLS, so you better believe Galaxy coach Bruce Arena will be thinking of ways to slow him down.

LA Galaxy
Similar to what we're seeing out of the Crew, the Galaxy haven't been at their best so far this season. They're currently in sixth place in the Western Conference, having picked up only 21 points through their first 16 matches to go with a -3 goal differential.

This past weekend, LA was unable to keep momentum going following a three-game unbeaten run, as they lost 1-0 at home to Vancouver. Despite dominating possession and generating more chances, the Galaxy couldn't get anything past David Ousted and the rest of the Whitecaps. The home fans were left disappointed after watching their team come up short against a solid Vancouver team.

Steven Gerrard, of course, is scheduled to arrive when the transfer window re-opens in July, and that's going to be a huge boost with the Galaxy eager to replace the now retired Landon Donovan. Until then, however, LA is going to need production from the likes of Robbie Keane, Gyasi Zardes and Alan Gordon; right now that trio has only mustered up nine league goals between them, which is why the results have been disappointing for Arena's club.

MLS Pick
Kamara leads the MLS in goals, so you know he's going to be an ever-present figure for the Crew in this one, and we think he'll be the driving force for a victory for the home side.

The Galaxy haven't been all that dangerous going forward despite the presence of natural goalscorer Keane, as they've only totaled 15 goals in 16 matches. They looked lackluster against Vancouver last week and now face an even more difficult fixture away to a desperate Columbus outfit.

So, as we finalize our soccer picks for Saturday's MLS action, we've decided to back a Crew victory, which is priced at approximately +120. Kamara's impact should be widely felt and Columbus will be going all out for a victory after this ongoing dry spell they've had to endure.
