Odds Overview
If you're of the opinion Dortmund is worthy of a play this week, you can find them at a very attractive price of +800 at most sportsbooks. As you'd expect, Real Madrid is a heavy favorite at -270 to -280 on the soccer odds board, while a draw can be found at just above +450.

Real Madrid
Consecutive league defeats to Barcelona and Sevilla had dampened Madrid's spirits, but they made a statement of intent over the weekend, crushing Rayo Vallecano 5-0 at the Bernabeu.

Gareth Bale had a brace and Cristiano Ronaldo, Daniel Carvajal and Alvaro Morata also got on the score-sheet in the comfortable win. After scoring only one goal in the first half, Los Blancos were ruthless as can be after the interval.

Despite the performance, there were still some jeers from the crowd, who were unhappy with the lack of team play from Ronaldo and company. We're not sure how you can ever boo someone like Ronaldo, but to each his own.

Nevertheless, the 5-0 win should do good things for Madrid's confidence levels ahead of this first leg encounter with a talented Dortmund side.

Truth be told, they've dominated in Europe so far, winning seven of eight matches (with one draw), including an impressive victory over Juventus. They demolished Schalke 9-2 on aggregate in the last round. How will they fare against another German team in the quarters?

Champions League Betting: Real Madrid vs. Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund
Dortmund had to battle back from a 2-0 deficit against Stuttgart to win over the weekend, with Marco Reus providing the impetus.

After going down by two within 20 minutes, it looked like it could be a disastrous day for the Black and Yellows. However, Reus scored once in the first half and twice in the second (including a penalty) to inspire Dortmund to the three points.

The win kept Jurgen Klopp's team in second place in the Bundesliga, still just one point ahead of Schalke.

Wednesday, though, is going to be extremely difficult for Dortmund. Not only are they riddled with injuries, but star striker Robert Lewandowski is suspended for the match. Lewandowski has scored a team-best six goals in eight Champions League matches so far this term and has been the primary reason Dortmund has been able to stay in second place in the league.

It's therefore little surprise manager Klopp has already come out and said his team will be Cinderellas against the powerhouse that is Real Madrid. Let's see if the mind games work for his group of underdogs. At least we know the effort will be there.

Champions League Pick
Despite a couple slip-ups, Real Madrid remains one of the true elite teams in world soccer and their devastating attack, led by Ronaldo and Bale, will always keep them ahead of the pack.

That much shouldn't change on Wednesday at home against what's turned out to be an inconsistent Dortmund outfit in the 2013/14 campaign. The Black and Yellows haven't been nearly as dominant as they were last season and will be extremely shorthanded in the first leg.

Real Madrid will want to come out and put on a show for the fans, while also knowing how crucial a disciplined performance in the first leg is. With our soccer picks, we think Los Blancos will win at home by two or more goals in what should be a highly entertaining 90 minutes of continuous attacking soccer.
