Quarterfinals Recap
Going into the Champions League quarterfinals, Bayern Munich were riding roughshod over the field. Sat at the top of the pile at +175 soccer betting odds on the Champions League odds board, they were the team to beat. However, after the quarterfinals were clocked into the books, the Champions League betting outlook experienced a dramatic shift and Bayern Munich duly slipped out of favor.

Champions League Odds Table Ahead of Semi-finals

Bayern's Fall From Grace
To look at the convincing 7-4 win on aggregate by Bayern over Porto is somewhat misleading. The Bundesliga high-flyers weren't convincing at all, at least not in the first leg that they lost 3-1 in Portugal. Only after they came out firing at all cylinders at the Allianz Arena did they win the tie and with it rescue their Champions League hopes.  But you could say the damage was done in the minds of soccer betting analysts.

To be fair, it's not just down to their patchy account in the quarterfinals. Injuries have conspired against them. As well, the draw, which pits them against a hot Barcelona in the semis, a side that is rounding out into form at the perfect time.

Sensational form down the stretch in its own right has earned Barcelona top honours on the Champions League odds board. It has to be said: of all the teams in the knockouts, they have been the most convincing. And they've not had an easy matchup either, playing against domestic title holders Man City and PSG, respectively.

Defending Champions Real Madrid
It's somewhat curious that the defending champions Real Madrid are the second favorites overall in the competition. That they've nearly really led the field either. Yet, here they are, just one round away from the finals and the chance to repeat as champions. At +225 to win it all, they do strike an attractive pose.

What's more, they've drawn so-called semi-final debutants Juventus while their La Liga rivals have drawn the proverbial short straw with Bayern Munich. One would think they stand a better chance notionally than Barcelona to reach the finals of Europe's top flight competition as a result.

Soccer Betting Verdict:
The way things are shaping up on the Champions League odds board, the forecast is for an All-Spanish showdown for the second consecutive season. Last year, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid battled for the title. This year, the top soccer pick is a matchup between Barcelona and Real Madrid. Do the bookies have it right or will Bayern Munich and Juventus get their two cents in one way or the other?

For our money, we have to agree the likeliest option is a Barcelona-Real Madrid showdown. That said, we're not ruling out Bayern Munich either. Put it simply: it wouldn't shock the world if Pep Guardiola does orchestrate the biggest win of his career at the expense of his former club. So an alternative scenario or soccer pick that appears quite possible is a clash between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

Alas, any scenario with Juventus in the final is the justifiable long shot soccer pick. That said, it doesn't mean it can't happen. (Buck up Juve fans, anything can happen in the beautiful game of football).
