As always the Champions League stage looks like it could be difficult to find some value. A number of teams have already qualified, but there is still top spot in their group to fight for. Others haven’t quite got qualification licked yet, while some are looking to see if they can scrape into a Europa League spot.

The majority of the interesting action in the Champions League group stage this week happens Tuesday night, and we have our first bet with the very first game, Besiktas v Porto. Top spot is in play here, and Besiktas can wrap that up with just a point. Porto need to win to give themselves a chance of going through at the expense of RB Leipzig (kicking off later against Monaco), and although I think they can get it I’m going a different way for my bet in this one. Instead I’m on Both Teams To Score at -120 with Ladbrokes. Besiktas have been a bit rocky recently and Porto have Vincent Aboubakar up front, who’s in red-hot form.

My next bet is in the game between APOEL and Real Madrid. Madrid need to bounce back after their last Champions League match and a resounding win here would do that. APOEL have been hardy opponents at home in the competition this season, but I think Real can win this by three goals. So, I’m on Real Madrid -2 at -121 with BetVictor.

Next up is the “other” game in Group G with RB Leipzig travelling to Monaco. The team from the French principality are unable to qualify for the later rounds of the Champions League but RB Leipzig still have a chance. Motivation is a big factor in games like this so I’m on an RB Leipzig win at +202 with Pinnacle.

Over to Wednesday, where the pickings are much rarer. There are a lot of games that have no value whatsoever but you are pretty damn sure the favourites are going to win.

Just the one match odds bet for me from Wednesday’s games and that’s for Manchester United to win in Basel. I do think the wheels are going to come off this Manchester United train at some point, but they’re a big strong side and sheer force will push them through to a win here. I’m not going to go so far as to say that Romelo Lukaku will notch a goal but an away win is priced at +105 with William Hill and that pays out enough for me.

Finally, chuck all of Chelsea, Bayern Munich and PSG into an accumulator and have a very small bet on it. No the odds aren’t great, but these sides should be giving themselves a very long hard look in the mirror if they don’t win these games.
