The 2018 WNBA season will tip off on May 18 and there’s a new name on the Futures Book betting Board in the Las Vegas Aces. But can anyone stop Maya Moore and the defending champion Minnesota Lynx and Candace Parker and the Los Angeles Sparks from getting to yet another WNBA Finals?

Futures Odds From Sportsbooks Showing the Usual Suspects Lynx and Sparks Heavy Chalks to Return to WNBA Finals

The 22nd Regular Season of the WNBA will tip off on Friday, May 18, with all 12 of the women’s professional basketball league teams scheduled to begin play in their 34-game schedules that weekend and all 12 teams in action on Sunday, May 20, including a 2017 WNBA Finals rematch at the Target Center in Minneapolis between the Sparks and Lynx as part of a six-game slate that runs from 11 am ET to 9 pm ET, dubbed “WNBA All Day.” And notable on the Futures Book board is the inclusion of the Las Vegas Aces a team which will play in the Western Conference and call the Mandalay Bay Events Center on the world-famous Las Vegas Strip right here in the aptly named Paradise, Nevada its home as Sin City adds a new WNBA team to go with its quickly successful new expansion NHL franchise and coming NFL franchise.

Either Candace Parker and her Sparks or Maya Moore and her Lynx have won the last 3 straight WNBA titles, 3 of the last 4 crowns overall and Los Angeles and Minnesota have played each other in both to 2017 and 2016 WNBA Finals with Minnesota prevailing last season and Los Angeles winning the year before in another 5-game WNBA Finals series. And with a very talented group of players all back in the Land Of 10,000 Lakes for it’s really hard not to imagine yet another Sparks-Lynx WNBA Finals this calendar year.

The Phoenix Mercury were the last team other than the Lynx or the Sparks to win a WNBA Championship, back in 2014, and that was the last season that neither Minnesota or Los Angeles made it to the championship round. The 2018 WNBA Draft will be held sometime in April and the new Las Vegas Aces already won the Draft Lotto to get the #1 pick.
