Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Ottawa RedBlacks
Free Pick: Take OVER 54.5 points
Recommended Sportsbook: 5Dimes
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are off to strong start atop the West Division standings and the Ottawa RedBlacks have won each of their first two games this season out of the East. This Friday night’s inter-division clash in Ottawa should be a good one behind two of the most prolific passers in the CFL this season.
The Blue Bombers are out of the gate fast with a 2-0 start both straight-up and against the spread. The total went OVER 50.5 points in a 33-23 Week 1 win on the road against BC, but it stayed UNDER 57.5 points in last Thursday’s 28-21 win at home against Edmonton. The total has gone OVER in 17 of Winnipeg’s last 25 road games.
Matt Nichols has completed 34-of-54 passing attempts for 384 total yards and six touchdowns in his first two games against just one interception. Lucky Whitehead has made an immediate impact in the passing game with eight receptions on 10 targets for 158 yards two touchdowns. Andrew Harris has led the ground game with 182 yards rushing on 26 carries.
Ottawa is coming off an early bye at 2-0 SU with 1-1 record ATS. The RedBlacks stunned Calgary 32-28 in their season opener as heavy nine-point road underdogs. They could not cover the 4.5-points at home in a wild 44-41 victory against Saskatchewan on June 20. The total went OVER the closing line in each of those games.
The biggest playmaker for Ottawa through two games has been quarterback Dominique Davis as the team’s new starter. He has completed 71.1 percent of his 83 passing attempts for 630 yards. While he has tossed three touchdowns, he has also been picked off four times. Dominique Rhymes has been his top target with 12 catches for 176 yards and one score. Mossis Madu has added a trio of scores running the ball to go with 162 yards rushing on 38 attempts.
Head-to-Head Betting Trends

Free Betting Pick
Winnipeg has gotten the best of things in this inter-division matchup in recent years, but each of these teams should be able to score enough points to take the total OVER 54.5 points on 5Dimes’ current betting line.

Hamilton (-12.5) at Montreal Total Line:56.5 (7:30 p.m.)
The Tiger-Cats won the opener in this early home-and-home East Division clash by 31 points at home, so look for them to cover the identical 12.5-point spread on the road.
Saturday, July 6
British Columbia (-6.5) at Toronto Total Line: 57.5 (7 p.m.)
This is an excellent chance for BC to stop the bleeding from the 0-3 SU (1-2 ATS) start with a road victory against a winless Toronto squad playing on a short week.
Calgary at Saskatchewan (-3) Total Line: 51 (10 p.m.)
Keep a close eye on this game spread with Calgary quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell still questionable for Saturday night. However, I have this game going OVER the current betting line even if Mitchell cannot play.
