There are just two weeks left in the CFL regular season and four of the five teams in the West Division have clinched a spot in the upcoming Grey Cup Playoffs. The East Division title is still up for grabs with Ottawa holding a slim half-game lead over Hamilton after losing to the Tiger-Cats last week, so we are going to make 2 CFL picks this week.

After settling for a split on two total line picks in last week’s parlay, I dug deep into all four CFL matchups in Week 19  to come up with a pair of CFL picks to put together as this week’s top two-team play. When it comes to betting on football north of the border you can always count on BetOnline as one of the top sportsbooks for online sports betting.

Ottawa RedBlacks vs. Winnipeg Blue Bombers

Pointspread: Winnipeg -5
Total: 55

Betting Preview

The RedBlacks are clinging to a half-game lead in the East at 7-8-1 on the year after losing to second place Hamilton 39-36 in overtime last week as 3.5-point home favorites. They have now dropped three of their last four games both SU and ATS heading into the first game of this season ending inter-division home-and-home clash. Ottawa continues to do a good job at putting points on the board with an average of 32 over its last four games, but this defense has allowed an average of 35 points a game during this same span.

Winnipeg is tied with British Columbia for second place in the West Division at 10-6 and it went into last week’s bye with an impressive 9-2 mark SU in its last 11 games while going a profitable 8-3 ATS. The Blue Bombers have been a tough team to keep out of the end zone lately with an average of 35.6 points over the course of their last five games. Matt Nichols continues to play well at quarterback and running back Andrew Harris has piled up 816 yards on the ground.

Betting Trends

The RedBlacks are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 home games, but they fall to 2-5 ATS in their last seven October games. The total has gone OVER in four of their last five games on the road.

The Blue Bombers are 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a bye week, but they improve to 5-1-2 ATS in their last eight games played in October. The total has gone OVER in six of their last seven games following an SU win.

Ottawa has won the last three meetings SU and it has a slight 2-1 edge ATS. The total has stayed UNDER in the last two games.

 Betting Prediction

You almost have to go with Winnipeg at home in this matchup given how both teams have played down the stretch. Each team needs to win to help their playoff position, but only one will get it done this Saturday afternoon with the Blue Bombers also covering the five-point spread.

British Columbia Lions at Saskatchewan Roughriders

Pointspread: BC -2
Total: 53

Betting Preview

BC will close out its regular season with a home-and-home series against this bitter West Division rival. These two met earlier in the season with the Lions rolling to a 40-27 victory as 1.5-point road underdogs. The total went OVER the 49-point closing line in that game and it has gone OVER in seven of 12 games since that win. BC has just two wins (SU and ATS) over the course of its last five outings, but this offense has managed to put up 32.4 points a game.

A recent four-game SU winning streak for the 5-11 Roughriders came to an end last week in a 19-14 loss to Montreal as 6.5-point home favorites. This was the first time that Saskatchewan closed as a favorite in its last 13 games and it still brings a profitable 7-1 record ATS into this matchup over its last eight games.  This offense has scored the fewest points in the CFL this season, but over the course of that recent four-game winning streak, it was able to raise its scoring average from 20.4 points on the year to 26.8 points.

Betting Trends

The Lions are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 road games and they are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with an SU losing record. The total has gone OVER or ended as a PUSH in nine of their last 11 October games.

The Roughriders are 6-14 ATS in their last 20 games against a team with an SU winning record and they are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 Saturday games. The total has stayed UNDER in four of their last five home games.

BC is 3-0-1 ATS in its last four road games against the Roughriders and the total has stayed UNDER in seven of the last nine meetings in Saskatchewan.

Betting Prediction

The Lions need to win this game to keep their hopes of a home playoff game alive, but I still think this game is going to remain closer than the spread on the scoreboard. There has been no quit in Saskatchewan down the stretch and I think it will give BC all it can handle this Saturday night.
