Sports handicapper Ian Cameron provides a betting preview of Week 11 action in the Canadian Football League.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers vs Saskatchewan Roughriders

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are playing much better football going 4-0 SU and ATS in their last 4 games with wins against Edmonton, Toronto, Hamilton and Montreal and it has coincided with the recent QB change that Winnipeg made benching Drew Willy and going with Matt Nichols under center at QB instead. However, Winnipeg was an underdog in each of those games and now they are in a much different pointspread range here this week laying more than an FG on the road.

Their opponent Saskatchewan has struggled mightily entering this game at 1-8 SU and 3-6 ATS but the Roughriders should take some confidence and belief with them into this game that they can get back in the win column after a valiant second-half comeback against Edmonton as they nearly erased a 20 point deficit but fell short in 33-25 loss but one where Saskatchewan covered the number as double-digit road underdogs. Saskatchewan’s offense led by QB Darian Durant finally snapped an ugly TD drought in the second half and they finally got some things working offensively. The defense also made a few key stops to give Saskatchewan a chance to win the game which is also a positive sign for the Roughriders.

This will be Winnipeg’s third straight road game although they had a bye week sandwiched in between their games against Toronto and Montreal. This is an annual Labor Day weekend rivalry game here between Winnipeg and Saskatchewan and that makes it difficult to lay significant points especially with the team that is on the road, all of the best sports betting sites will have options available. Saskatchewan is 4-1 SU, 3-2 ATS in their last 5 meetings against Winnipeg here at Mosaic Stadium at Taylor Field in Regina since 2012 and the one and only Winnipeg victory on this field during that span came by just 4 points.

As good as Winnipeg has been playing of late, this is a sell high situation on a team that has no recent experience being a significant road favorite in the CFL odds and that leads to pointspread value in this game on the home underdog Saskatchewan Roughriders worthy as betting pick and I’m making that the CFL Play Of The Week for Week 11 action.

Recommendation: Saskatchewan +5 -110 at Bookmaker
CFL POW Record: 6-4 60%
