Sports handicapper Ian Cameron provides a look at Week 8 of the Canadian Football League season.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers vs. Toronto Argonauts
I've said repeatedly the Toronto Argonauts play their best especially offensively when they have extra time to prepare.

In games where they have had at least 10 days off between games since the start of the 2014 season, here are the results:

2014: 38-21 win against Winnipeg (Toronto ATS win)

2014: 33-32 win against Edmonton (Toronto ATS loss)

2015: 30-27 win against BC Lions (Toronto ATS win)

2015: 42-12 loss against Hamilton (Toronto ATS loss)

2015: 35-26 win against Ottawa (Toronto ATS win)

2016: 30-17 win against Montreal (Toronto ATS win)

The Argos have scored at least 30 points in five of six games in this scenario since 2014 and have gone 5-1 SU, 4-2 ATS in those games. It also doesn't seem to matter who is at QB either as Toronto has had a revolving door of QB's over the years: Zach Collaros, Trevor Harris, Ricky Ray and now Logan Kilgore and they still maintain the same consistency in terms of playing well on offense after an extended break or a bye week. That is likely because Toronto operates a more complex and tricky offense to pick up than many CFL teams do and that is just a product of head coach Scott Milanovich's system and clearly they have done their best work off a bye week which they are coming off here as they face Winnipeg at home on Friday night.

I was impressed by Logan Kilgore in his CFL debut against Ottawa before the bye week. His first ever start on the road and he led Toronto to a 23-20 win while piling up 322 passing yards and a solid 60% completion rate. He now has a start under his belt and tons of practice and prep time afforded to him leading up to this game to be even better and now he gets a home start so I expect an even better and more comfortable Logan Kilgore at QB for the Argos here. Winnipeg is coming off B2B wins against Hamilton and Edmonton but they are still dealing with cluster injuries at WR and in the secondary plus they may be down an offensive lineman with the potential that Jermarcus Hardrick may not play in this game due to injury. Toronto finally got their first win at BMO Field in their most recent home game against Montreal by a score of 30-17 and I think they will be well positioned, rested and ready off their bye week, to get another win and cover at home.
