Push comes to shove this weekend in the CFL when the 10-1-1 Calgary Stampeders play host the 8-4 Winnipeg Blue Bombers in a West Division showdown between two teams that have now won a combined 16 games in a row.

Last week’s CFL parlay started off with the right call on the total line with Winnipeg running past Toronto 46-29 in a game that went way OVER the 50.5 closing line. I also went with the OVER the 54.5-point total line in Sunday’s Edmonton against Saskatchewan game, but the combined score came up short in the Roughriders’ stunning 26-23 overtime win as 5.5-point home underdogs.

Moving on to Week 14 of the CFL regular season, the following are my top two CLF picks for this week’s parlay based on the betting lines at the top online sportsbook for football north of the border, BetOnline which offers a 50% Free Play Bonus.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers vs. Calgary Stampeders
Pointspread:
Calgary -10
Total Line: 52.5

Betting Preview
The Blue Bombers’ current straight-up winning streak reached seven games with last Saturday’s rout of Toronto, but it was the first time they covered as favorites in their last three games as 5.5-point favorites at home. The total has now gone OVER in four of their last five games behind an offensive effort that has averaged 32 points during this highly impressive winning streak. Matt Nichols has thrown for 1,839 yards and seven touchdowns in his last seven games.

Calgary’s SU winning streak now stands at nine games following last week’s 48-23 victory against Ottawa as an eight-point home favorite. It was the eighth time the Stampeders covered the spread during their impressive nine-game run and the total has gone OVER in their last three outings with a scoring average of 42.3 points a game. On the year, Calgary is first in the CFL in scoring with 405 total points.

Betting Trends
The Blue Bombers are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games and they are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with an SU winning record. The total has gone OVER in four of their last five games following an SU win.

The Stampeders are 6-1 ATS in their last seven Saturday games and they are a perfect 7-0 ATS in their last seven games following an SU win. The total has gone OVER or ended as a PUSH in their last five September games.

Head-to-head in this West Division tilt, Winnipeg is 3-7-2 ATS in the last 12 meetings and 4-9-1 ATS in the last 15 meetings in Calgary. The total has gone OVER or ended as a PUSH in two previous meetings this season with the Stampeders winning both games SU and ATS.

Betting Prediction
Both these teams are playing at a very high level right now and while Calgary is clearly the better team on paper, I still like the Blue Bombers’ chances to help take this game right down to the wire and OVER the current 52.5-point total line.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats vs. Saskatchewan Roughriders
Pointspread:
Hamilton -4.5
Total Line: 53.5

Betting Preview
Hamilton’s record stands at an even 6-6 SU and in the watered-down East that is good enough for a half-game lead over Ottawa and a game lead over Toronto. The Tiger-Cats had to scratch and claw their way past Montreal last week in a 20-17 victory as 10-point home favorites and they have now failed to cover in five of their last seven games. They are 3-5 ATS in eight games this season where they closed as favorites.

The Roughriders would have every reason to quit on a season that has basically mirrored last season’s SU 3-15 record, but they continue to show up week after week with an even 6-6 record ATS including four straight covers. The last time they failed to cover a spread was in a 53-7 beatdown at the hands of Hamilton as 10.5-point road underdogs in late August. Credit the play of quarterback Darian Durant for last week’s stunning upset that was capped off by his winning touchdown run in overtime.

Betting Trends
The Tiger-Cats are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team with an SU losing record and they have failed to cover in their last four road games. The total has stayed UNDER or ended as a PUSH in four of their last five games following an SU win.

The Roughriders are 1-8 ATS in their last nine Saturday games and they are 0-6 ATS in their last six games following an SU win. The total has gone OVER in eight of their last 11 home games.

Hamilton has a 4-0 edge both SU and ATS in its last four games against Saskatchewan including that lopsided victory earlier this season. The total went OVER 54 in that game after staying UNDER in four previous meetings.

Betting Prediction
The Tiger-Cats only convincing win over the past few weeks was that romp over Saskatchewan, but I see that as being a spark for revenge this Saturday with the Roughriders playing at home. I doubt that Saskatchewan will be able to pull off another SU upset, but I do like their chances to cover the 4.5 points.

Over here in the East Division, the 6-6 Hamilton Tiger-Cats will try and raise their record above .500 as road favorites against Saskatchewan this Saturday night, after analyzing the CFL odds the bet can be placed.
