CFL Grey Cup Futures Picks: Preseason Favorites and Values

Will the Winnipeg Blue Bombers hoist the Grey Cup for the third year in a row at the end of the 2022 season? Here's a look at our 2022 CFL Grey Cup futures picks.
For the first time since the 2019 season, the Canadian Football League will play a full 18-game schedule. The 2020 season was shut down due to the pandemic. In 2021, the league agreed to a 14-game season as restrictions were being lifted across the country.
Now, teams get ready to get back to normal with a more traditional 21-week season. The 2022 campaign begins on June 9 and wraps up with the 109th Grey Cup game on Nov. 20.
The Blue Bombers have stood on the championship stage each of the last two seasons. They aim to make it three in a row with many players returning from those winning rosters.
Here are my outright picks for the CFL Grey Cup (odds via Caesars Sportsbook and BetMGM).

2022 Grey Cup Odds Analysis
The Blue Bombers are the unanimous favorites to win their third straight title across the books. There is very little deviation in their odds from site to site. Most have them offered at +250, but you can find a bit more value with Caesars listing them at +275.
There is more fluctuation at the bottom of the list. The BC Lions and the Edmonton Elks are the cellar-dwellers on DraftKings Sportsbook and FanDuel Sportsbook. However, the Ottawa Redblacks find themselves at the bottom of both Caesars and BetMGM.

Who Will Win the Grey Cup?
Blue Bombers (+275)
Winnipeg has won back-to-back Grey Cups. In both 2019 and again in 2021, the Blue Bombers beat the Hamilton Tiger-Cats to become CFL champions. The Bombers enjoyed an MVP performance from running back Andrew Harris to hoist the first cup and an equally as strong outing from quarterback Zach Collaros for their second.
This season, they will be without Harris, who's now a member of the Toronto Argonauts. Collaros does return, though, to lead a still-potent offense even without one of the league's best running backs. Winnipeg also adds Greg Ellingson at wide receiver, who has Grey Cup experience with the Redblacks.
The Bombers' defense remains largely in place with Willie Jefferson and Jackson Jeffcoat as the anchors. Winnipeg has many of the same weapons as it’s had for its last two titles. There is little doubt why the Bombers are favored again to win it all.

Stampeders (+750)
The Calgary Stampeders have been a strong team for years. Calgary has appeared in five out of the last nine CFL championship games. It won both the 2014 and the 2018 Grey Cup games. Last season was the first since 2007 in which the Stamps did not win at least 10 games.
They will hope that dominant quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell can stay healthy this season. Mitchell has battled through several nagging injuries the last few seasons, but the Stampeders keep winning in spite of them.
With all the attention on the Blue Bombers, Calgary offers great value at its current price. The wide receiving corps is among the best in the league. The Stamps also welcome back running back Ka’Deem Carey and defensive lineman Shawn Lemon. This team is built for another title run.
Redblacks (+1800)
Ottawa participated in three out of the four Grey Cup games from 2015 to 2018. It beat the Stampeders in 2016 for the Redblacks' first title in their current configuration. Since then, the team has failed to reach the championship game.
The Redblacks have struggled on offense the last two seasons after losing quarterback Trevor Harris to the Elks. They addressed that issue this offseason by signing Jeremiah Masoli, who was the quarterback for the Tiger-Cats in last season’s Grey Cup game. Ottawa has also surrounded him with some familiar faces like running back Jackson Bennett and wide receiver Jaelon Acklin.
The defense remains Ottawa's strength, keeping linebacker Avery Williams on the team with defensive backs Sherrod Baltimore, Abdul Kanneh, and Antoine Pruneau. Many are saying this team is attempting to buy a title, and with this lineup, they just might.
