An oddball challenge to a brawl, spawned by Jennifer Lopez’s engagement to Alex Rodriguez, gets a prop bet from oddmakers.

One former ballplayer’s engagement to a singing/dancing/acting superstar has prompted allegations of an affair and challenge to a duel, er, fight.

We swear we don’t work for AMI’s National Enquirer, but it’s starting to feel that way.

Oddsmaker Bovada is offering a prop bet on this turn of the story and BetOnline still has odds up on the particulars of the wedding, if gamblers are game.

On Saturday, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez announced their engagement after dating for more than two years. While others were gleeful at the news of the impending marriage, for former ballplayer Jose Canseco it brought harsh words and a challenge to a fight.

Canseco is accusing Rodriguez of cheating on his new fiancée with his former wife. Yeah, a scorecard would be helpful here.

Canseco, who played most of his career in Oakland but had a one-year stint with the New York Yankees, said in a tweet that he was at his ex-wife’s home when Rodriguez called Jessica Canseco on the phone.

“Alex Rodriguez stop being a piece of shit stop cheating on Jennifer Lopez,
another tweet said.

And then, Canseco threw down the gauntlet – so to speak.

“Alex Rodriguez I challenge you to a boxing match or an MMA match anytime you want.”

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

Alex Rodriguez I challenge you to a boxing match or an MMA match anytime you want
— Jose Canseco (@JoseCanseco) March 11, 2019
\n\n"}[/]

He his tweet storm continued with “I am willing to take a polygraph to prove that what I’m saying about Alex Rodriguez is 100 percent accurate.” He also tweeted his phone number if the “World of Dance” judge wants to call him to discuss.

No reason why Canseco kept using A.Rod’s complete name in all his tweets – maybe it’s a Beetlejuice thing.

This isn’t the first time Canseco has voiced this accusation. He called out Rodriguez in his book “Vindicated” published in 2008, saying Rodriguez bombarded his ex with text messages and phone calls. He and his wife have been divorced since 1999.

And it isn’t as if Rodriguez is squeaky clean in the fidelity department. His former wife, Cynthia Rodriguez cited “infidelity” on her divorce petition. "The marriage of the parties is irretrievably broken because of the husband's extramarital affairs and other marital misconduct.”

And lest we forget, A.Rod was suspended from baseball for one-season suspension from baseball for steroid use.

Canseco has alleged he introduced Rodriguez to a steroid dealer in the late ‘90s, and later snitched on the meeting to get revenge on A.Rod for his attentions to his then-wife.

As for Canseco’s accusations and brawl requests, J.Lo and A.Rod have remained mute.

The wager offered by Bovada is:

Jose Canseco vs Alex Rodriguez – Who Will Win?

Jose Canseco -175

Alex Rodriguez +135

It must be said that Canseco does have past MMA experience. In 2009, he lost an MMA match to Hong Man Choi in a first-round submission.
