It is Week 10 of the 2016 CFL regular season and eight of the nine teams will close out the first half of their 18-game schedule. This week I have singled out both the games on Friday as my CFL parlay.

Game 1: Winnipeg Blue Bombers vs Montreal Alouettes

Pointspread: Montreal -2.5
Total Line: 48

Betting Preview
The changeover to Matt Nichols at quarterback has helped Winnipeg win its last three games straight-up while closing as an underdog in all three contests. Coming off last week’s bye, he has thrown for 887 yards and six touchdowns against just one interception. Nichols has put the ball up 108 times so far and he has completed 70.4 percent of his throws. Andrew Harris is the leading rusher in the CFL with 505 yards on 112 carries.

Montreal is 3-5 this season both SU and against the spread and its five losses it has not scored more than 18 points in any one game. The Alouettes’ scoring average in their three victories balloons-up to 35.3 points a game. They did draw first blood in the season series with a 22-14 victory in Week 1 against the Blue Bombers as two-point road underdogs, but they will be facing a much more potent offense this time around.

Betting Trends
The Blue Bombers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games on the road and the total has stayed UNDER of ended as a PUSH in nine of their last 11 games overall.

The Alouettes have failed to cover ATS in six of their last seven home games and the total has stayed UNDER in 10 of their last 13 games played at home.

Winnipeg has covered ATS in four of its last five road games against the Alouettes and the total has stayed UNDER in three of the last four meetings overall.

Betting Prediction
I am looking for the Blue Bombers to keep things going in the right direction coming off a bye with yet another SU victory as an underdog. Montreal’s struggles with consistency all season long point to a step backward this Friday night.

Game 2: Saskatchewan Roughriders vs Edmonton Eskimos

Pointspread: Edmonton -14
Total Line: 56.5

Betting Preview
It would be hard for Saskatchewan to play any worse following last week’s 53-7 pounding at the hands of Hamilton as a 10.5-point road underdog. It is now 1-7 SU on the year with a 2-6 record ATS. The Roughriders are the lowest scoring team in the CFL with just 145 points in eight games and their defense is the worst team in the league in points allowed; giving up an average of 35.8 points a game. They have now been outscored by a margin of 28.3 points in their last four games.

Edmonton bounced back from a rare three-game slide with back-to-back victories against Montreal and Toronto both SU and ATS. The Eskimos are now an even 4-4 SU (3-4-1 ATS) on the year. Quarterback Mike Reilly leads the CFL in both total passing yards (2,843) and passing touchdowns (14) and wide receiver Adarius Bowman leads the CFL in receiving yards (875). Another good sign was the 117 yards Edmonton gained on the ground in last week’s 46-23 victory against the Argonauts as a 2.5-point road favorite.

Betting Trends
The Roughriders are 5-16-1 ATS in their last 22 West Division games and the total has gone OVER in five of their last seven division games.

The Eskimos are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following an SU win and the total has gone OVER in seven of their last 10 home games.

Head-to-head in this division matchup, Edmonton is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings and the total has stayed UNDER in 17 of its last 24 home games against Saskatchewan.

Betting Prediction
It would be hard to see Saskatchewan keeping this game closer that two touchdowns, but 14 points is an awfully high spread for a division matchup no matter how big the gap between the two teams may be. What I do like in this game is the OVER 56.5 total line. Edmonton might be able to put up that many points on its own this Friday night.
