Dortmund is still alive in the Champions League, but they still have to put a lot of focus into their league campaign. They face a difficult fixture on Tuesday when they play host to third-place Schalke and we've got our soccer picks for this one ready.

Odds Overview

The Royal Blues have enjoyed a fine season, yet they're not given much of a chance for Tuesday's away match in Dortmund. They can be found hovering around +500 to score the upset victory. The Black and Yellows are -175 to win on the soccer odds board, with a draw in and around +350.

Borussia Dortmund
Let's see how Dortmund will fare after a dominant 3-0 away win over Hannover this past weekend. They're sure to be buzzing after such a good result, but Schalke should provide a tougher challenge.

It was a great result over Hannover though, regardless of how poor their opponents have been this term. Mats Hummels, Robert Lewandowski and Marco Reus all found the back of the net in the victory, with Lewandowki's goal a wonderful solo effort.

With those three points, Dortmund was able to hold on to the second spot in the Bundesliga table, but Schalke is keeping pace and is only one point behind at this stage.

The Black and Yellows, though, know they can boss the Royal Blues around, as the earlier league meeting between these two sides proves. Dortmund won 3-1 away from home, and that was without Lewandowski even getting on the score-sheet.

That being said, we fully expect Lewandowski to give Schalke fits throughout on Tuesday. He's been fantastic, in spite of the fact he's set to join Bayern Munich in the summer, having scored 16 goals to go along with six assists in league play so far. Will he add another goal or two to his tally against Schalke?

Schalke 04
The Royal Blues may have bowed out in the Champions League, but they kept their good league form going with a third consecutive victory over the weekend.

The victim this time was Eintracht Braunschweig, with Schalke getting the 3-1 victory at home.

Leon Goretzka got an early goal for the hosts, with Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Adam Szalai also getting in on the action. The Royal Blues looked mighty dangerous going forward, racking up 32 total shots, 11 of which were on goal. Needless to say, Eintracht goalie Daniel Davari was busy throughout.

Schalke will be hoping they can put similar kind of pressure on Dortmund here on Tuesday, though they haven't had the best of luck away from home throughout the 2013/14 campaign.

In 13 matches outside of Schalke, the Royal Blues have been good for six wins, three draws and four losses, with 22 goals for and 23 against. With Bayer Leverkusen in striking distance for third place, Schalke could really use at least a point from this visit of Dortmund.

Bundesliga Pick
This is obviously a hugely important fixture, one that could end up paving the way for either one of these teams to grab that second spot in the standings.

The edge has to go to Dortmund here though and we feel good about them getting the win. They've had some unusually shaky performances at home this term, but they've still excelled for the most part, scoring 32 goals in 13 matches in all.

Schalke meanwhile hasn't had the easiest of times away from home, especially defensively. That's not a good sign when they'll have to deal with an in-form Lewandowski and Reus – with our soccer picks we're going with a win for the hosts.

Soccer Pick: Borussia Dortmund 3 Schalke 1
